ok, im wondering if i can stick a xeon 3040 in any LGA775 motherboard and have it still work...i want to get the cpu and i have a P4 3.0ghz lga775 in my DFI 915P mobo right now, but im wondering if i can swap them? i dont mean will i have to reformat or sometihng i just mean like...is it possible to use the Xeon 3040 in any socket T mobo?

The motherboard needs to be Core 2 Duo compatible. Check the manual.

I would go with the Gigabyte GA-965P-S3 board. Intel chipsets > Nvidia chipsets.

Which Pentium 3Ghz do you have? I think there were maybe 7 different Pentium 3Ghz cpu's. 😀

yeah....i want SLI though....

SLI is not worth it considering all the extra costs involved. Bigger PSU, extra card, more cooling, plus drivers have never been up to par. Then in 6 months a new single card is out that is faster than your two working together.

IMO, not worth it. It's better to get a single fast card.
