seeing as 90% of all games are released for both systems theyri multyplayer stuff is just about the same

thats not true, xbox live is far ahead of sony

you just said multyplayer, not online

and teh PS3 will support 7 controllers, which is > the 4 the 360 will have, id rather have 6 other friends in teh same room then play online with random people

but yes in terms of onlin emulty player teh xbox is better

probably ps3 for the same reason the ps2 has a 233 mhz processor almost toe to toe (not quite..) with an xbox running at 700mhz.

when i think multiplayer i mostly think online since thats where theres still a real difference. as for 7 controllers, it starts to get absurd. you are dealing with one screen after all. anything more than 2 players is already stretching it for most games.

*shrug*
Let me list just a few of the great games that you can't play with a PC... Forza Racing, God of War, Resident Evil 4, Project Gotham Racing , NHL2k, MLB2k , Metal Gear Solid, Virtua Tennis/Top Spin, Soul Calibur, Ninja Gaiden... I could go on and on.

As a matter of fact, if you look at Gamerankings.com, the majority of the high ranking games are not for the PC.

Personally, I like to keep my options open. 🙂

Both Xbox360 and the PS3 are far more capable then any of our machine's we spent so much on.

Its irritating, I spent so much on my PC yet the new consoles laugh at it in terms of graphics.

Xbox360 = Out in less than a month.
PS3 = Out in a year or more.

I fully expect the PS3 to be more powerful - and more expensive - so in my mind they're not competing at this point in time. I've got a preorder for an Xbox360 readied.

Lol, and how many developers are going to actually support 7 controllers? Surely I hope it wont be anything with split screen 😛

Games?? different then game consoles which are built off of PC architecture.

dipsh|t, they're still games and we already have a billion other threads talking about these platforms

Ok, its obviouse that you are too imature to handle your own emotions on this subject.

1. These consoles are built off of PC architecture and are pieces of hardware (NOT MEDIA) so are exempt from the need to be in the gaming section. This is a question of hardware power, not game quality.

2. PC's also are used for gaming a lot of the time, if we went by the things you say, would we have only one section??? since most electronics these days are capable of video games??, watched, Ipods, Cellphones, Computers and Home game consoles.

Please refrain from any other inapropriate attacks in my thread.

Want a serious response? Here you go:

They're game consoles. Game consoles. If you want to talk about the specific hardware going into each one, then post in the correct forum (general hardware). If you want to talk about their function as a unit or as a whole, then post in the correct forum (games).

In fact, you can even dig up the dozens and dozens of threads about these consoles and continue the current conversation without starting new threads.

It's really not that hard.

There's a quote from John Carmack saying PS3 is more powerful. But he likes XBox360 more because it's a lot easier to develop compare to PS3. I believe the link to the quote can be found in Bluesnews.com.

edit: link. I guess the original quote is from G4.

John likes Xbox360 more.

Carmack is also a OpenGL programmer so this makes him BIAS towards the PS3 which uses an Nvidia chipset (Better at OpenGL)

And what if I use my game console stricly for listening to MP3's or DVD movies only??? yes I agree that general hardware would of been a better choice but my point is that this is not best suited for the gaming section.

Post wherever you want to. He isn't a mod, and if the mod doesn't like where it's at, they will move it. But yeah, there are quit a bit of these threads.

In that case, you'd post in software *gasp* that also happens to be the same forum for games. Well, unless you're talking about the movies or the songs themselves, which could fit into OT -but it wouldn't matter whether you're using the 360, PS3, or anything else.

If there was then I appologize, I tryed searching for them to make sure, but I did not see any. It must be the poor search function on these forums. Oh well, I am happy I got the results that I did, it could mean better competition for Sony in the long run.

Yeah, I was refering to online multiplayer.

PS3. I haven't been burned by Sony on the first two, so I will continue faithfully. True I agree overall games such more these days, but the real gems are found more often on Sony consoles than MS's first offering.

That said, if Xbox360 turns the tables, I'll become more accepting but it will be very hard since I feel Sony has treated me well

PS3...Only if it plays Blu-Ray HD movies as well.

But its going to suck if its a real low-end Blu-Ray player, just as the PS2 was with DVD movies.

The PS2 only sucked if you didn't use component cables. I found it to be a better player than what Apex was selling at the time.

Are you going to play with 7 people in the same room by splitting the screen 7 ways, or by lugging a second TV into the room to play a 4-split and a 3-split?

Of all the features to support, this was a dumb one for Sony to bother with.
