Xbox Windows 10 app finally was updated to allow streaming of Series console to PC. Cannot believe it took them this long. Haven't had much chance to test it, did a quick run of Hades without too much issue (I suck at this game, fun though).

YES. This is a big deal for my family and using the console but not the main TV. Thanks for the heads up.

Also, Hades. Wow. It's so freaking good. Also not great, just good enough to enjoy it. It's sorta amazing how it trains you to be better at it over time.

I saw the same sort of thing when I was playing Rogue Legacy. I used to shun Rogue-lite games... mostly because I didn't enjoy the idea of playing the same thing over and over again like I was back in the arcade era; however, it tickles that good part of your brain that says "Look! I'm doing better! I'm improving!" I find this in stark contrast to things like micro-transactions in games that tickle the bad part of your brain.

It seems like an interesting idea to promote those sort of games to kids. I see a sort of disdain for difficulty in games, which hasn't been helped by those gatcha games that just give you things. It's important to learn that it's okay to fail and try again. (Emphasis on the "try" part. :p)

Anybody using wireless headsets with the series x? Looking for a good pair that fits on a big head, has a good connection and good sound for gaming. Could care less about for music, or Bluetooth. As long as the Xbox connection is solid, comfy, mic is good, and game sound is good.

Also I'd like it not to be very green. Getting the XBOX Halo edition and it's like black with some gold and silver lines on it and blue stars. The Turtle Beach series 700 series 2 seems perfect but some say it's a bit tight, though others say it loosens up. The Steelseries Arctis 9x seems pretty good but it's $50 more than the Turtle Beach and some reviews say it disconnects a lot.

The Astro 50's are $300, that's too much, the ASUS ROG are $255, too much. Trying to keep this around $150. Maybe $200 .

There's the official Xbox ones, not sure how they sound. I was going to say Arctis next as I have the wireless Arctis 7 for my PC and I've ever had disconnections. Didn't know the 9's had issues. I actually use the 7's with the cable on my series X. The sound is not the best and sometimes crackles. Not sure if series x has 3d sound like ps5 but I wouldn't be able to use it with my method.

Amazon shows these for $97 right now

Thanks. Yeah I saw that one but the SQ is supposedly just average. I want good positional sound for multiplayer FPS. I found a pair of Corsair that are $150 that are just gray and black that get pretty good reviews. I'll get those or the Turtle Beach 700 series 2 when I get my XBox Halo Edition and make sure they fit and work right, in case I have to return them. The Corsair seem to do well with big heads, the TB might be tight.

I use the Audeze Penrose. Expensive yes but the best sound you can get in a game specific headset. I will pay more for better sound.

Biggest problem I have is the wireless range is quite short but for me it’s fine as I’m not more than 5 feet from my console.

Just read that Walmart is now cancelling some people's Halo limited edition Xbox orders. That sucks for those affected

Something like this should always be hard allocated. Meaning you know you will get 10 and don’t take more than 10 orders(or however many). Im sure they knew how many they were going to have.

Play game on your console while viewing on your PC. Useful for when someone wants to use the TV to watch a movie/TV show or use another console.

I guess I can play Apex Legends though

I didn't realize the Halo Console also came with a copy of Halo the digital edition. I figured the extra 50 bucks was for the fancy paint job. Turns out it was for the actual game.

Shroud is about to stream some Halo multiplayer shortly.

I’m waiting for campaign for Halo Infinite as I’m not really into online shooters anymore. I don’t have time for the nonsense or to actually get any good at it lol

Anyone playing halo infinite on series x on a TV with Dolby vision support should turn Dolby vision for gaming off on your console. Apparently there is an issue with DV in the game where it caps at 400nits and puts a general fog over the picture. What this means is that if your TV can produce 800nits of brightness or more, the game will only output half of that range and destroy the picture quality. Normal HDR10 looks great. Speculation is the beta doesn’t have DV support yet but either way it looks better with Dolby vision for gaming turned off.

Also if you use VRR on your TV or monitor and output 120hz from the Xbox in quality mode (60fps) you will get flickering. Change the console to 60hz or the game to performance mode (120fps) to alleviate this.

Interesting, just got an email from MS offering Series X bundles for purchase. Not sure what the criteria they use is. I have bought stuff from them before, but never indicated I was looking to buy a Series X (got one at launch). No Halo one, just the standard one. You need to buy a game+controller to checkout.

Saw the impressions video from ACG on the halo infinite campaign. I may pick it up for pc once it comes out. Been a long time since I played a Halo game but the campaign reminds me of sort of like far cry but with Halo.

When I start up my Xbox Series X again and fast resume BF 2042 or Halo Infinite, I can't connect to their servers. I have to go and manually quit the game and re-launch, then it connects just fine every time. I am on a hardwired ethernet connection with this Xbox. Anyone else have this issue? Any setting I can change to fix this? Or is fast resume only supposed to work with non multiplayer games?

I remember hearing about multiplayer fast resume issues from the get go. I remember Gears 5 doing strange stuff.

On the note of Halo Infinite, the campaign is pretty much getting praise across the board.
