Why? One could easily tell in a couple of hours that they don't care for Zelda/Mario/Donkey Kong.

Btw, I do own all three systems now. Resident Evil 4 is the ONLY GC game that I am even remotely looking forward to. Every multiplatform game, I'd rather play on the Xbox (or even the PS2.)

You suck M4H!!

<-- Bought a GC as an early x-mas gift:cool:

Donkey Konga >*

EDIT: You need a pair to mod a PS2, not an XBOX.

<-- has modded both

Oh yeah? Well, you swallow! :p

<-- Also bought a GC as an xmas gift ... for his 7-year-old little brother!

Hey M4H, haven't seen you around here in a while. How the entire engagement thing going? GL with that.

Game Cube rocks! I got one for Christmas this year. I find the PS2 games too sportsy and somber looking. X-Box is just plain unwieldly with those robo- controllers and PS2 is too busy catering to the tastes of the MTV crowd in my humble opinion.

I prefer the Gamecube games and look. I like the throw backs to the days of the NES as well and the controllers are by far the best of the bunch.

To each their own though.

Ikaruga is almost two years old... But I could've sworn I played the same game back in the 80's. Or maybe it was just the other 149 games just like it. ;)

Alien Hominid is nothing special at all.

F-Zero GX is a year and a half old, and again, nothing special.

Like I said... With the exception of RE4 this week, there's just absolutely nothing to look forward to on the GC.

Ikaruga is also overrated and I still like Radiant Silvergun on the Saturn alot more but thats just my opinion.

Alien Hominid isn't too bad..but its no Metal Slug.

F-Zero GX I like alot..but Wipeout XL is still my favorite "future racer".

I used to have a GC but sold it months ago.. I really want to play RE4 though. I have a feeling the PS2 version isn't gonna look too hot but one of my buddies has a cube so I'll play it on his GC.

SMB 1&2
Animal Crossing
PN03

Imagination is where the GC is at. Not just the same old same old with 'uprated textures and a new feature for this season' type games.

That's fine. All I wanted to know is if you played them, since I noticed that you had a Gamecube. I don't remember seeing you say that before, although I don't read every message you post.

What difference does it make if IKARUGA or F-ZERO were released in 2003, 2004 or 2005 ? I don't understand why that makes any difference ? Other than it means they cost less.

And this phrase, "nothing special", does that mean you've played them and didn't care for them, or that you're just not interested in them ?

Imported, and I don't know what manner of drugs you've been consuming, but I'd like to see where the identical DC version "fails" to the GC. Other than the language barrier.

From what I hear its 100% identical to the Dreamcast version. It was just a simple port as the game came out during the last days of the Dreamcast.

I've never played the Dreamcast version, as I said my comment is based on objective reviews...

.............................................

"Ikaruga is the sequel to the acclaimed (and widely thought of as the greatest shooter ever) Radiant Silvergun, and it outshines its predecessor in every way, shape and form. Ikaruga first made an appearance on the Sega Dreamcast in Japan at an unfortunate time. Treasure released it when the Sega box already had one foot in the proverbial grave, and subsequently the game was never released on US shores. The DC proved to be a great home for Ikaruga, but some framerate issues and somewhat bland texturing slightly marred this great title.

The Gamecube version suffers none of the minor graphical flaws that hampered the original. "

................................................

btw, I have a Dreamcast and think it's a great system.

The only "framerate issues" I see is during the massive end-of-level battles, after the boss has blown up. At that point, I don't care about FPS, since the boss is dead. :p Far as the general detail, VGA makes it look just fine to me. :)

I own a gamecube, ps2 and XboX. I play the Xbox the most. Although it's 3months old and unmoded.
I hate the ps2. But love playing Gradius series on it. Nothing else.
The cube is good for mario, pikman:thumbsup:, zelda, konga, IKARUGA (too fvckin HARD!!!), metroid  all got boring FAST.

But xbox has bettter graphic than all of um, and I LOVE the Controller. Alot like the Dreamcast to me.
Ive been playing KOTOR obsessively all month. Most fun game ive played in years.

I had a GC last year and ended up selling it. Then we bought one for my 10 year-old son for Christmas last month.

Well, the topic at hand was that there is nothing to "look forward to" on the GC... So, a game released two years ago doesn't really apply. :)

What I meant by "nothing special" is that they are just average games, at best. And certainly nothing that kept my attention for any decent length of time.
