Xbox Live?

How much is Xbox live and is it worth it? Who here uses there Xbox to go online? How often do you play? Better then pc online gaming?

Is Unreal Championship, MechAssault useless game without going online?

i'm addicted to xbox live. i usually play it more than UT2k3 or WC3 about 10 to 1. i think microsoft hit it big w/ their standardized and centralized online gaming system. it's where the future of console gaming lies, IMO.

just for some added info, i own 4 xbox live games, but only played 2 online. i was addicted to mechassault online for about 2 months, but then switched over to nfl fever 2003. i know most ppl don't like this particular game but, for me, the online experience is just goddamn addictive. i can't wait for fever 2004 and XSN. w00t!

Isn't it 50 dollars for a year subscription and the headset? If I get some decent games for the xbox soon I may get it but not sure.

Didn't you already decide that the Xbox had no good games?

XboxConnect isn't "all that". Not only is it laggier, a PITA to find a game to get into, and all-around less dependable than Live... There just aren't that many games going on.

For instance, right now there are 57 servers showing up. Two are playing Ghost Recon, one MechAssault, and the others are Halo. So... It is good for Halo online.

Which you couldn't do at all with XBox Live.

Yes, you are correct. There is one thing that XBC does very well... Play Halo. Other than that, there's really no use for it.

That's what I've heard as well. BTW you can also play Brute Force with it. And you can't beat the price either 🙂

But remember, you get what you pay for.

XBConnect is good, but in my experience it's got to much lag. And running from my computer to my console gets old quick. With Live I rarely have lag.

Agreed. I'd love to get live but I want to see more games come out that use it first.

I was with you. The only reason I got it was because I know the price is going up pretty soon. I bought it with intentions of not using it until a few more games came out, but once I got it home it was calling to me "Play Me, Play Me".

<---another LIVE addict.

Addicted to:

NFL2k3 (can't wait for ESPN Football)
SOF2
Ghost Recon Island Thunder

and non-live KOTOR.

Hmm.. MechAssault was fun for awhile but then the online play is pretty shallow and gets boring after while. I played more of the campaign in the long run. I bought ghost recon and tried to play on a saturday, but there was only one active game with the same players over and over. The other games had like one other person in them. I guess people who bought ghost recon didn't like to go online? That was prob 3-4 months ago though. I plaid RTCW online but I just didn't get into it that much. The best games I have played on the Xbox are Halo, NCAA Football 2004 and KOTOR. I guess it was worth $50 but I am not going to renew. Playing with friends in my house is much more fun to me.
