FWIW the 360 will output native resultion in games at 1080p if a developer chooses to support that. (Why they would, I dont know.)

Anyone know what the internal connection on the drive is? Possible to crack the case and mount in a 5.25" bay?

I used the coupon for a Zune. It wouldn't scan so the manager took off $40 manually. Nice deal if they'll take the coupon.

My local CC refused to accept my .pdf version of coupon but willing to let it go for $175 instead of $199. The store manager who was nice enough to split the difference and now what?
I do not have the XBOX 360 player myself. I will try to hack it to se whether it will work with my HTPC or not. Would someone shoot me a link where I can read about hacking this thing, myself?
Wish me luck. :D

Just picked one up using the coupon. I figured if I wanted it any time soon I should get it now since I'm sure the limited edition will be tough to find after the christmas shopping insanity begins.

No hacking is required. Just plug it into the USB port of the computer. Make sure you have a DVD player software that can play HD-DVD format. You just won't be able to view the files in your computer thru My Computer, etc. because of the lack of native drivers.

Just used the coupon tonight and it worked. The CSR has to manually take $40 off as the coupon wouldnt scan, but I didnt have to ask, she just did it on her own. Just go to Customer Service and have them take the coupon.

BTW, Toshiba has UDF drivers so you can see the files in explorer. Playback in XP is somewhat lacking. I can watch movies at full resolution using VGA (have no HDCP compliant components in my system), but there is some screwy PIP thing going on. I wonder if it has to do with the bundled King Kong disk being a hybrid. I suppose when real HD-DVD software is released it will work great. Anyways, theres still some tweaking to be done, but so far so good.

LOL...I used the one linked in the first page of this thread. You couldn't really read the fine print in the pdf, so I couldnt tell when it expired. I thought msi1337 posted yesterday, but it was on 11/23!!! Anyways, YMMV.

Yeah, I'm using the OEM version of 6.5, but like I said, it only partially works, as its really buggy. Apparently, it depends on the disc you are using. The retail version isnt out yet.

You just need the XBOX360 "Premium" System. It comes with everything you need *the $399 one*

Once you get it, make sure you hook it to your HDTV using the Component cables ( Red/Green/Blue), then manually go into your XBOX settings and tell it to output to 720p, or 1080i depending on your TV..

Thats about it, from there you should be gaming in HD.. YOu can also download HD trailers and clips from XBOX Live once you get it online. That service is free.

The HD player in the OP is only for playing HD-DVD movies, it isnt necessary for HD games. (yet)

Awesome, thanx bro :)

I noticed on the base ones box it said you could game in HD. So I then looked at the Premium box..besides other things..the thing I noticed said it came with the HD cables, the base did not. Could you just buy a base and upgrade the cables?
