I ordered last Friday and got a tracking number this afternoon. It looks like they are shipping from PA if you are located in CA.

Whoa, looks like mine's scheduled to arrive tomorrow. I ordered today too, but I'm sure living in Ohio helps (but I also had to pay $10 tax).

Sweet in one thanks OP. Total came out to $168 plus 5 free movies, which I'm going to sell, so its a good deal overall. My order has already been complete and I'm also waiting for a tracking number, wow they are quick.

Ok, Fed Ex changed the scheduled delivery date to Wednesday, still pretty fast though.

Mine actually did ship out last night but of course just went to the sorting facility. It's expected delivery so far is Friday but from PA to NV, that's not too shabby.

Well mine ended up showing up at my door at 8:00 this morning, 20 hours after I placed my order 🙂

Yep it also comes with a disc to install the software needed on your Xbox 360. Also there has been an update to the software, so sign into Xbox Live, start playing King Kong and it will automatically tell you to update. There is also an Xbox system update released today (so you don't confuse the two).

How's the noise level of the drive?

First ,not as quiet as you average dvd player.
However if the player sitting next to you xbox 360 console then the noise from the console takes precedence.

It's really not too loud IMO.

"Your shipment will be made in two steps because the regional in-stock warehouse which made this shipment cannot ship directly to your state. Your package is being shipped to our main Ohio warehouse and will then be immediately forwarded to you."

great........

Great price. Now's the time to buy them. What'd be really sweet is having an HDDVD drive built into the 360. But then again, its also nice to be able to buy this for a PC too! 🙂 Either way, great price!

The tough part with that is that they still have to have the disc read standard DVDs at 9x, which I'm not sure if any of the current drives can spin that fast. Also the cost is still too high to be included.

Also Netflix is a must have to accompany this drive, I have Shooter coming tomorrow and I bought Distrubia today.

I got the player 2 days ago, took about 5 minutes to setup and it played king kong perfectly. Also there's no audible noise to interfere with my movie watching as far as I can tell, awesome!!!

Yea, most of the noise comes from the 9x DVD, so if thats not spinning, the console is whisper quiet.

what drivers did u used for XP?

It's plug and play for movies if I understand correctly, although you'd need drivers to read a "Data HD DVD" If you have a software player you should be ok.
