Yes, for once, consoles will have a lead on PCs for a tangible period of time.

We will have the graphics, but the processors and memory subsystems are still far off on the PC.

Wait a sec.. there is no anisotropy filtering in the Xbox 360 hardware?? UGH. I know most people care alot about Anti-aliasing since some people are allergic to the slightest hint of jaggies..but I HATE gaming without AF. I can't do it.. when a game starts for the first time and I see that slight blur on the ground textures of certain games I immediately turn on 16x AF..aahhhh..what a difference!

I don't understand why AF wont be used in the new console. Its just as important in my eyes as AA.

If you believe that's an actual screenshot from a game then you need to think twice. It's a 3D Studio render of a game idea. The developer is shady and known for outright lies to get financing. Former employees in development have also said those screens are nothing more than 3D renders on ideas. They are trying to get their name out there. 2 Day to Vegas will not look like that and odds are it will never come out. SM is a joke of a developer.

To start, sure. but, at release the Xbox 360 will be the fastest it ever will be. PC's on the other hand improve almost monthly.

Console harware remains the same through their entire life cycle of several years while PC's are constantly evolving.

Some of the Xbox360 games look A LOT better than PC games, it's going to take a while for PCs to catch up actually. Actually PC gaming is bad right now because video cards can't keep up with the graphical power of the PC games, which arent all that mind dazzling to begin with.

Just see for youself...you can download all the teaser videos via bittorrent here

???
My card is only a 6800GT, it has no problem with any game I play (ex. D3, HL2, PK+BOoH, FC).

I thought XBOX 360 only ran 2xAA? Atleast I know this is one of the 4 requirements Microsoft has mandated on any game made for the X360.

The four are:

1. A minimum of 720p support.
2. 16:9 support required.
3. DD 5.1 support required.
4. Use of 2xAA functionality built into machine.

I guess I know that 2xAA is required, but are developers free to use higher if they can get away with it?

xbox 360 is going to do the same thing that the ps2 did wrong... come out earlier in the competition and therefore start out slower. The ps2 came out a lot sooner than the xbox, and the xbox team was able to integrate newer technology and finalize stuff that the ps2 couldn't use at the time. I think it's gonna happen again to xbox this time.

Don't trust screenshots this early, because even if they did come from the 360, it came from hardware that more than likely will be changed before release. Plus, did you notice that some of the screens gamespot has for the 360 and ps3 are the same pics?

with all this great hardware inside, can M$ afford to sell it at say $300-400 a unit and make a profit?

I doubt they will make any money, in fact they will most likely lose money on their hardware, and make up for it in software/Live subscriptions. Which is what they did with the current Xbox.

Anyways, I think I take it back when I say pc games won't look as good anymore to console games.

on the first xbox they actually lost money no big deal though

because they make most of their profit off the games they publish

so basically they release monster consoles and in a couple years they start making money lol

its funny how despert they are to win over sony

aren't these badass graphics more a result of better modelling and texturing, than a better graphics engine?

The Xbox will cost M$ for every unit sold, but they'll make bank on the games. Plus by giving people more bang for their buck, they can get more customers away from Sony. It's all about the future.
