I just got back from Costco Monday 12/12 10:00AM, in SO Cal, and they had Xbox 360's in stock. One per customer, it was the premium bundle, I think it was around $475.
No line, just ask for one and buy it. I couldn't get one because my Wife is an employee and we are not allowed to buy them, but you can!

this is probably a ymmv deal. I got mine at costco on friday. it was $479 for the premium system with an extra wireless controller, a battery pack and charging unit and Project Gotham Racing 3. I went in during the business and executive member time, and they probably had about 200 total. My guess is that they were gone by the time I got home that day.

Last time I checked it was out everywhere in So Cal.

Which warehouse did you check?

Who is buying all these 360's?? From everything I've heard, the advantages so far over current generation consoles is slight, and even those meager marginal benefits require, at minimum, a large HDTV, surround sound system and broadband. I think this is all hype gone out of control. No reason for anyone to be frantic trying to get one of these until they have the additional hardware required and some truly next-gen games start showing up.

In general I agree completely, though I must admit I'd buy a 360 given the chance. As it happens I have a large (new) HDTV, a nice surround sound system and broadband, and I LOVED PGR2. PGR3 alone would be enough for me to rationalize buying a 360, but in general I'm happy with my XBox and HTPC, and the upgrade to a 360 is far from critical.

I have a 60" hdtv, a home theater 7.1 surround sound system, and broadband. The games look and play pretty damn nice. friends who had come over to play this last weekend are all pretty jealous. and isn't that what it's all about, to make your friends jealous.

at the price of an upgrade to a 7800 gt and new cpu, I decided instead to take my gaming into the living room.

Fact 1: 40,000 xbox 360s have been sold on ebay.
Fact 2: There was a report (quickly pulled) that there were about 350,000 xbox 360s sold in the first week or so in USA.

Hence something like 12% of xboxs went straight to ebay. I mean who wouldn't be tempted to sell a $500 package for $700 or $900 or wtf ever they are selling for now on ebay

I got one at the Costco in Norwalk on Saturday morning. They told me the LA stores that got them were Norwalk, Fullerton, Laguna Niguel, Santa Clarita, Westlake Village, and Woodland Hills. I don't know which of those would have them left today still though.

My GF tried to pick one up for me in Santa Ana on Sat. when most of SoCal got their shipment and they had already sold out by the time she got there (3pm and they open at 11am.)

I'd love to know which SoCal store has them since according to the computer no one does and they of course can't even give a general (as in are they coming this month) time fram on the next shipment.

They actually open at 9:30 on Saturdays. The Norwalk store allowed people buying 360s to come in 3 at a time starting at about 9:00 and we were out of there by 9:10 before the store opened. It was very well organized and stress-free.

On Sat night I had my local do a qty check at all the local costcos. The only one that said they had one was Santa Clarita and they sold out that night. So I'm a bit suspicious that a So Cal Costco had on today.

Steve Ballmer needs to talk to his Chinese manufacturer to speed up production. I haven't seen the XBOX360 in any of the local Fred Meyer's, Best Buy, or Wal-Mart.
