Also, isn't it rumored that Msft will enable USB storage in a future firmware update?

It's already enabled and out there. You can have up to two USB storage solutions connected at once but each will be limited to 16GB of available space.

Target has bumped their gift card up to $50 to reflect the WalMart/Amazon deals. I got mine yesterday at the Glendale, CO Target for $155 and some change and it came with a $50 gift card. There was an official looking tab on the shelf that said $50 gift card, so I'm pretty sure it'll be all Targets.

Target is selling it for $130 now, because of a problem with the ad listing a headset that's not included, so now at Target it's $130 plus a $50 GC, making the 360 $80!

Is Amazon still offering a $50GC with their deal (I can't find it listed anywhere on the page)?

Picked up the last bundle at my local target for $135 - $50GC = ~$85 with tax.

Needless to say I'm happy. My xbox was toast. I had a 120GB HDD and wireless g adapter. I thought about trading them in at gamestop for the new slim, but I'm happy with the arcade for what I paid.

I just bought this same xbox a month ago for $160. Meh, did anyone see $85 coming?

I had a feeling this was coming. There was a lot of buzz about the slim. My xbox crapped out around April or so and I've been putting it off since then.

I'm thinking about buying this, trading it in to gamestop with the games for credit buying the new slim. Anyone else do this?

so you are going to spend $150 plus tax to go trade in the console and get $100 plus $6 for the games? even after the $50 gift you will have spent over $100 anyway to get the Arcade in the first place. in the end depending on your tax doing that will actually cost the same or even more than just using 100 bucks cash towards the new slim 360 in the first place.

an example: $149.99 + 8% tax would be $162 - $50 gift card = $112. then you get $106 for trading it in at Gamesstop. so that will cost you 6 more bucks than just going to Gamestop in the first place and paying cash.

=\

I was referring to the $85 target deal. Not that I'm guaranteed to find one.

EDIT: I mean I don't know if this stacks or not but if I get two $85 xboxs and turn them into ~$215 credit I've made a cool $40.

even if that worked out would it be worth the hassle for 10-15 bucks in the end? just go buy the new 360 and be done with instead of driving around going to different Targets just to see if they screw up the price so you can save 10-15 bucks by the the time its all said and done.

I picked one up at Target and got a $50 giftcard. Unfortunately a 1yr XBOX Live Gold membership cost $50 there so I'll probably buy it somewhere else.

OK, now that I have the unit do I need to buy a harddrive for anything or can I just use a 16GB flashdrive?

you are going to need a hd if you want to dl any demos or dlc. in the long run the new slimmer 360 is the better buy if you want the large hd and built in wifi.

I don't need wifi because it's close to my router, and isn't the new slim $300? How is that better?

do the math. IF you needed wifi that would be another 100 bucks. IF you want the official Microsoft hd so you dont have to worry about getting banned then thats over 100 bucks. that means to upgrade those 2 things would be more expensive than just getting the quieter and cooler running new slim 360. also some people want to use the the digital out on the audio which would require an adapter on old model.

Well I'm using HDMI so audio isn't an issue. And as far as a harddrive goes, I can probably pick up a used 20GB off eBay for $20-$25. . Even if I decide to go for the 250GB one I noticed I can find it for somewhere in the $110-$120 range. So coming in somewhere @ $200 seems pretty good. (But I'll probably hold off on the 250gb drive for a while).

toyota you just want all these $85 bundles to yourself.

You don't need to spend a fortune on wireless. A $35 asus n router with tomato/ddwrt will work great and can be a great help to other devices you have behind the scenes under the TV. If you don't need 250gb, I just got a 60gb live kit (w/ headset) for $45. That's $165 for a 60gb jasper w/ wireless n and 2 games.

I bought 2 at the local target (on the way home from work) for ~$86. The guy knew the $130 price for the arcades, but when I asked for the spring bundle and it came up for the same amount he thought it was a price mistake.

Grabbed one at my local Target mainly to use as a refresh of my launch system. Going to say goodbye to it at Gamestop tomorrow meaning I basically just swapped over to a much newer/better unit for free. (Gamestop credit will be used for games eventually and Target card can be used for groceries I would have bought anyway).

Got it from Target today: Just got it for $130 (Sign said $130, price tag said $150) and $50 GC which employee confirmed as soon as I asked about it. Only taxed on the $80 too.

Hey look, we don't work for the tax department. But he's right. I think they look at the overall price of $130 and figure they can't tax you on $50 of that because it is a giftcard in return? My receipt says 7% RI tax on $80.... I bought one. Used the gift card toward a second. Only had to put $85 cash up for the 2nd one, and still got $50 gift card back for that one. We buy groceries and toiletries, etc at Target so it's like the same as cash to me. $35 for the second one.... This deal is fantastic IMO.
