Pretty noticeable, probably about 20-30% in most demanding games. Find some benches and they wil tell the story This is literally the fastest card to ever grace AGP, so if you want to upgrade, this is your last stop (excluding PE of course, but why pay for that extra 1% performance???)

I'm not sue about the fastest AGP card. What about a 6800 Ultra Golden Samples or OC or the X850XT PE (as you mentioned)?

Still Damn fast. For $40 more, you can get a 7800GT though.

dang it! I was thinking of getting a x800gto for ~$200, but now I can't resist this for 50 bucks more. Or I might forget about the whole lot of 'em and get that 6600gt for $99.

This is the fastest card made in any sort of high production numbers and thus relatively easy to find at a real-world price, that was my point The x800xl alone is faster than a 6800U in many games, not to mention the x850xt

However, i was about to pull the trigger and I noticed after scrolling down and reading the product specs that the "Maximum Supported Resolution (Digital) :1600 x 1200". Is that just suggested or the card literally wont show it? Id hate to have to run my future 2405fpw over analog rgb....

Isn't Nvida gpoing to come pout with a 6800gs for $200?? I'm thought about this deal, but am going to wait. The price of an AGP versus a PCI-E is just too much right now.

I'm seriously thinking about this card. I'm looking to upgrade my Radeon 9800 Pro with something that will last a year or so. I was waiting for the 6800 GS AGP like I think many others are. Would I regret not having SM3.0 features like this article (6800 GS Review) suggests?

My point was that he said you can get a 7800GT for only 40 bucks more, but you can't compare prices on AGP and PCI-E. It's real cool that the 7800GT is that cheap, but those of us looking at this card can't use the 7800.

I don't know how to explain it. It's true for all single link DVI including the ones in all Nvidia cards, as they all support 1600x1200 maximum, but they have some workaround, and therefore we all can get 1920x1200 60Hz out of it.

Actually, it's pretty simple - the original spec for DVI only allowed up to 1600x1200x60 over a single DVI link, however, it was written with running CRT's over DVI in mind, and so had to allow extra time at the end of each line's data for the electron beam to flyback to the other side.

By reducing this wasted time (search for 'reduced blanking spec') you can just squeeze enough extra bandwidth into a single-link dvi channel to allow 1920x1200x60.

Also, how do people like this compared to the NVidia equivalent?

will this card work in my mobo as an 8x AGP card- no it will work at 4x whixh is not a huge difference.

For this price I think this about the best you can do for AGP.
