ATI are a bunch of bastards. i thought i was the only one here who'd encounter these issues. with me they said that they didn't receive the cut-out UPC or serial number, when i have a box with a cut-out UPC to prove them wrong.

i called Microcenter, and i have to say they really impressed me. they told me to come down and bring all the materials. i did that and they refunded me the rebate amount, no questions asked.

keep intouch with these guys and tell them you've included everything. take your copies and the box if you still have it. the might help you out.

You are right about the Mc ppl, dealt with them a few times when i lived in kc. they will go out of their way to make you happy even if its not their fault. They traded me motherboards even though they didnt warranty it when the manufacturer went belly-up (soltek usa). If you go back in they should help you guys out.

There's a thread on this over at FW too. Most people are calling and getting it approved after complaining. The number is 1-888-259-8722.

For me it took an hour, 2 phone calls, 1 disconnect, and 1 supervisor to get mine approved. The sup said he has more tools at his disposal than the 1st-tier technician (who was saying the UPCs don't match) and that he was able to validate via the serial number I submitted that the product I purchased was indeed eligible for the rebate.

Here's the kicker. At the end of the conversation I made a remark that I have been waiting on this since late Nov. He corrected me and said Dec. 3rd. That was my original submission with original serial number that was "lost" and never in their system. I resubmitted a copy and, of course, the resubmission was being rejected because it didn't have the original serial number! What a scam.

He's got a point

Why not get the PCIE version for $90 less? Then add a PCIE motherboard too for less than $250 without the hassles of a MIR? Plus you're in a better position to upgrage down the road. I say this isn't that great a deal unless you have an Athlon XP or P4 that's overclocked to hell, and they don't have a PCI express motherboard for your architechture. Otherwise if you have a socket 754 Athlon, or a socket 939 you're better off getting a new mobo, and video card for less bling bling. I'd say that even if you have an AXP you should probably not get this card anyway, as the chances are you're processor limited anyway.

peace,

Also when I have a rebate over $50....i send it certfied mail to make them sign for it, so that I can prove they received it.

It's been said before, but I'll say it again:

For some of us, a new board isn't a real option. I can't just switch over to PCI-e baord as I have 3 socket 940 systems that use AGP and ECC REG RAM. A PCI-E dual opty motherbaord aint cheap...

I guess it is still a real option for some people.

Regarding the Microcenter X850XT rebate, I just talked to a rep at Microcenter and she told me that one of their manager people was dealing with ATI
on the issue. Then they would deal with the rebate center and get everyone their checks.

When I called and mentioned the issue the CSP asked me "would this happen to be for an ATI graphics card?" so they are on top of it.

HERE
is the thread over at FW regarding the rebate issue. Many people are having sucess just from
dealing with the rebate center....I was not one of them 🙂 Good luck everyone, keep at it.

Mine rebate initially also shown as processed in the system. But after waiting for a couple of weeks, Ati claim that the UPC is not included together with the rebate form. But in fact, I did double check and staple together with the rebate form before sending out.

Today I received two ati rebate postcard.I was so happy and it doesn't last long when I see the rebate rejection reason "Rebate decline due to original UPC not included". Each individual rebate is US50.00. Total of US100.00 gone with the wind. I have already throw away my packaging, where do I find another UPC to sent it to ATI? Lesson learn, whenever rebate sent to ATI. Request for Signature confirmed.Unlucky me....

Call the number on the card - (888) 259-8722. I got the same card - I was pissed and ready to threaten to sic the Attorney General's Office on them.

Amazingly, I got through immediately. I got a pleasant young woman who spent a couple of minutes looking up my file. She came back on and told me there was a SNAFU in their system - they had my UPC but somehow the computer was erroneously holding up the rebate. She authorized my check right away.

I got one back in Feb when it was $200 after $50 MIR.

I just recently received the dreaded post card telling me that I didn't include a qualifying upc or serial #.

I just got off the phone after being on hold just a couple of minutes. The lady that I talked to was very polite. She put me on hold to review my file. When she came back she told me that the upc I had submitted was recently added to the promo & hadn't made it in thier computer before my entry was processed. She fixed it, and now I should be receiving my check in a couple of wks.

Yeah, they're actually quite responsive and helpful. I still wonder whether this is really an error, but if you call them on it they'll fix it immediately.

This was my experience as well. I was waiting 6 months on a $30 rebait. One call and it was here in a few days.
