Had an interesting conversation with a retailer/etailer about ATI's *p* poor record of delivery of their high end cards. HE CLAIMS that ATI, although the 'manufacture' in Canada, have sub-assembly sites that were moved into the middle of the Indian Ocean by big waves. The message was that as sub-assembly is switched to other locations they will be able to ramp up their manufacturing.
The problem is that ATI won't say squat about their operations. Perhaps there are legitimate reasons for delays. Layered with the existant, illigitimate reasons, they kill shipment to end users. The guy says ATI promises product almost immediately.
I am #92 of almost 600 back-orders for X850's he's waiting to fill.
