step 1 boot from CD\DVD by changing the bios boot order to boot the optical drive of your choice.

step 2 Select the menu option of your choice, it will confirm a succesful flash once done.

step 3 Enjoy!

dont put the ISO onto CD, you burn the iso...

USE NERO

open nero burning rom (must be at leaste version 6.0) ,

close the new cd wizard, go to recorder on the file menu at the top, select BURN IMAGE from the drop down menu, then go find the ISO file that you have downloaded. once selected a thing will pop up asking for block sizes ect ect, just click OK pop your cd \ dvd in and click burn. then reboot pc, go into your bios and change the boot up sequence to CDrom first rather than Hard drive. pop CD in and select option 1 from the menu. reboot and be happy...

I just did this flash with the CD and it was easy as hell.
It took me longer to find an ISO burning program. Nero was giving me problems.
I'm currently using ATI tool then I'm going to do some benches.
Thanks alot Locutus12.

Well I've come to the conclusion that I will not be able to get the flash to work for reason I don't understand, so I will stay with the 12 pipes and be happy.

Worked for me, as far as I can tell. I didn't feel like doing before and after scores with 3DMark05, but I can definitely tell I have better framerates right away. I have yet to overclock any.

I don't know if you've really tried anything, but there are basically 2 steps to get this thing working. First you have to burn the iso as an image, not just a data file. With nero you can do so by going to Recorder -> Burn Image... The other problem may be that he's not setting his cd drive as his primary boot device. I don't see anything else possible unless... he doesn't have a computer.

follow me veeewy closely.... im hunting wabbits...

1) get ahold of a copy of NERO thats at least version 6,

2) open nero burning rom up, close the new compilation wizard that always pops up when you start the full nero burning rom

3) along the top where it says File, Edit, ect... find recorder

4) click on recorder and select burn image and a file browse window will open.

5) use the file browse window to find the place where you downloaded the ISO file and select it.

6)once found, double click it to be taken to the burn cd window.

7) insert blank disc and click burn.

I have a Sapphire GTO (NOT the squared version) it has the R480 core, I'll double check the ram whe I get home, but I'm sure it's samsung. It looks almost identical, the board colour is blue not red/orange, and doesn't have the additional power plug.

What I want to know, and can't seem to find out (I've been looking all day), is if this card can be unlocked to 16 pipelines, if so, can I get away with using this autoflash tool?

This'll be my first bios based O/C and don't know how the bioses work.. I figure that it should be okay, because it is a sapphire card, and is using the same stuff.

well, if it were me, id be trying it lol, but get ahold of an old PCI graphics card first, or if you have one built in then that works fine too. in your case though i wouldnt use this util as i couldnt say what would happen on a standard GTO, however it is all the same stuff from the techpowerup review and mod guide...

Which bios should I replace the stocck bios with, then?

I intend to create a boot floppy for the standard bios and a boot floppy for the modded, for obvious reasons. I just don't know which bios to load on to it, I assumed the modded GTO2 stuff from the techpwoerup guide would suffice, as the card is practically the same as the GTO2

You have the fireblade edition. I believe it lacks the pci-e power feed and can't be oc'd to xtpe speeds. Though I'm not sure about unlocking to 16 pipes. I might have that the other way around, lol. It can be oc'd but the pipes can't be unlocked... or something.

8) Go into your mobo's bios and set the boot priority to your cd-rom drive being first.

9) Make sure that you're putting the cd into the drive that's selected as your primary drive.

10) Save changes and exit with the cd in the drive.

11) It should reboot and you'd be on your way.

I think it's the pipes that can't be unlocked, I just checked some other forum threads (I forgot about them earlier), some people are saying they're getting 525/550 clock/mem speeds..

I think I'm going to wait for someone else to try the pipeline unlocking, because I can't afford to make a fatal error.

There's no troubles with trying to unlock the pipes via bios flash, as long as you have a pci video card. Just boot off the second card and flash the bios back to the old one.
