I've seen the review, but i'm still buying nVidia, simply for the feature set. I don't want last years technology, even if it does perform slightly better now. Because I just have this gut feeling that nVidia's driver team will be able to do more with the 6 series.

Even if the X700/X800 is simply a refresh of an older core design, it makes Nvidia look that much worse since they can barely keep up to it with their latest and greatest. Just because something is newer doesn't automatically mean it is better.

Exactly. Who cares if ATI has older tech, if it can keep up with, or sometimes surpass new tech, who cares? If its 6600 vs x700, i dont know what I would buy because i need to see more reviews. If its x800 vs 6800 GT, Id go GT. and If its 6800 U vs XTPE, id go XTPE.

I've had the Radeon 9800 Pro for over year now, very stable and amazingly fast, still to this day. THis has got to be one of my better hardware purchases. For this reason, I will stick with ATI"s cards. Not to mention they dont consume as much power as nvidia's newer or even older cards (like geforce 5800 lol). But this current generation isnt so much of an improvement over my 9800 pro, so the next generation that comes out i'll be all over it

review? ut oh

These cards still aren't an order of magnitude greater than a 9700Pro and aren't a very viable upgrade for most people here IMO. If someone has a GF4 or prior card this would make a very nice upgrade, otherwise I wouldn't bother.

The only time any of these cards is at least twice as fast as a 9700Pro is the 6600GT in Doom 3.

I guess some of you upgrade for 30-50% more performance. I typically wait until my performance will double with a $200 upgrade.
