You guys notice that everything is compared to the iPod? Why? Because it sets the standard for portable music players, and as such, why would you go with anything that isn't an iPod? Unless what you buy is an iPod, nothing will exactly meet the standards, because they are based on the iPod.
Don't go substandard and just go and buy an iPod.
Er... no. Becuase it is teh one to beat SOLELY based on its sales #s.
Nobody is going to compare their mp3 player to something NOBODY has heard of. That would be pretty piss poor marketing wouldn't it?
You can NOT argue that iRiver and other companies such as this do not offer a better product, for less money over the ipod.
Er... yes. You know why the sales numbers are so good? Because it is a good product that can't be beat. It does set the standard with the numbers, and the numbers are there because of the quality of the product. When your product is supposed to be the best, you compare it to the current 'best'. The problem is that you can't compare to an iPod and win. The iPod always wins out in functionality, compatibility, controls, styling and pricing. Simple truth.
wrong, wrong, wrong.
iPod is marketed 1000X more heavily than all the other mp3 players combined.
no doubt the iPod is a very nice mp3 player, but it isn't the best just because everyone's buying it. that horrible logic and shows that you've bought into their marketing hype.
that's the only mp3 player non-techies/non-audiophiles have heard of.
dunno about that. creative even put up billboards along the freeways here
