Well Ive been searching Newegg and Tigerdirect, but it seems that their are currently no X48 motherboards out yet. (Rampage, Black Ops, Msi X48 and so forth) However the 9800 gx2 is already on Newegg. I believe these two were coming out the same day or atleast I thought they were. So my question is does anybody know the official date? I know im jumping the gun, but hopefully I'm just checking too early and they'll have them posted on later today.

DFI LP LT X48-T2R DDR2. Bought 1 late last night from Motherboardpro, said at the time that there were 14 left.

Thanks for the heads up guys. I wonder why it feels like its under wraps, I thought it was going be an explosive release posted all over the place. I am currently waiting for the Asus rampage extreme which should be out with the rest of the motherboards. Hopefully.

let me know how that board performs - i'm gonna start to hunt around if it has the nice little option for memory settings I like to have. Being DFI i'd think it might have more than I want :p

Ordered a GA-X48-DQ6 from excaliberpc.com, about 30 mins ago. Had 3 left.
Can't vouch for the company, new customer to them, but like you I have been hunting for days, and they just updated with some in stock.

Hope this helps, regards.

Been searching for x48 boards for about two weeks now until I found this thread. Picked one up from excaliberpc also, they're rated high at reseller ratings, waiting for the q9450 now.

Excaliberpc have been around for a while. They were guaranteeing a particular mobile Athlon XP stepping back in the day. I received exactly what I ordered.

They are still showing the Gigabyte GA-X48-DQ6 as in stock.

Good to deal with so far, they called me today to confirm my order since it's over $300. The guy told me it is an item that's hard to keep in stock and if there was a delay he'd call back in a few hours and let me know. Never got a call, got home 6 hours later, checked my email and saw it shipped! I'm not about to jinx it so instead of being to gleeful, i'll say that I'm looking forward to seeing how this plays out.

Receive the board from mwave, they sent me P5E3 Deluxe. :(

I doubt they ever have any P5E3 Premium.

Update: Mwave contacted me today, said they received wrong merchandise from their suppliers. The correct part has been shipped to them now. They will overnight the premium board to me.

Great service they have. :)

Well I am bumming.

Got my Excaliberpc, X48 motherboard a min ago,
but it was the DDR3 version GA-X48T-DQ6 , not the DDR2 version I ordered, GA-X48-DQ6.

If I didn't already have the 4 Gb of DDR2 1066 , I would probably just have kept it. It's a more expensive Boad.

Would LoL, but since I can't build my rig now, I will have to wait till more of the X48-DQ6 ship to them, to replace it.

Seriously bumming, * heads to fridge for more beer *

Hopefully their Suppport is as good as NewEgg's is in correcting Order screw ups. * Raises his Beer Mug * Here's to hoping

I'm waiting for the Asus Rampage Formula

Any special reasons why you guys have decided NOT to buy this MOBO?

As far as i can tell this board seems to be the best X48 available today.

FYI i will run the Core 2 Duo E8500 with my Rampage Formula.

Cheers!

At that kind of price, one could consider the 790i Ultra as an alternative. X48 is just a higher binned X38 isnt it?

Well, they started selling the rampage formula over at zipzoomfly.com. So if you want one, you should grab it. Rampage
From the specs I know its a great board if not best, but I want to completely go all out as in terms of DD3 and other amazing features the Asus Premium holds.

Good Morning Everyone.

Well, the Gigabyte X48 boards have finally appeared. They're for sale here: ClubIT @ $319.99 USD, and here: ZipZoomfly @ $308.00 USD. Newegg still hasn't posted a SKU for any x48 boards, but I'm sure it won't be too long before they have them listed as well.

Now we just need Intel to release the Q9450 procs and we'll be ready to rock-n-roll! I will update this item as more vendors offer the X48 boards for sale.

Best regards to everyone. Happy Easter!! TheBeagle :D

PS. Please don't forget to remember our colleague's (Gary Key) little girl, Angela, in your thoughts and prayers on the Easter holiday! Last I heard her cancer was in remission, and we will all pray it stays that way. God Bless Gary and his family.

UPDATE!! Here's the listing for "The Egg": Newegg @ $309.99 USD ($8.54 - 3 day shipping). I ordered mine from the Egg, since I've always had VERY good service from them, and especially on the few returns that I've had to make. I would recommend The Egg to anyone!

AFAIK, there will be no Rampage extreme.

I just built a new PC and really wanted to wait for X48 but got impatient and went for the Maximus Extreme (which is an amazing board, btw). Is this true there will be no rampage DDR3 version? In that case I am glad I didn't wait.

Anandtech Rampage Formula Article
We would be delinquent in not noting the impending release of the Rampage Formula's DDR3-based companion, the Rampage Extreme.
