It's not availible in the old CP...but it's no great loss anyway.

So the standard catalyst ai optimizations revolve around the CCC rather than the drivers eh?

I had trouble with the first His card I recieved I finely got it to work . Than I noticed that the 512 version was cheaper than the new card I got a little over a month ago 256 version. New egg gave me my $$$back at which time I jumped all over the 512 version . This card is great not 1 problem The fan stays at 40% and I haven't seen a GPU temp above 43c since I installed it. It idles at 32c. This is the coolest running ATI card I have every owned. This is the factory O/C card so I am really impressed.

Actually, the 7.2 Cats are the very first drivers i've ever had problems with, and i've been installing drivers for nearly a decade, it's a widely reported problem as well. It's mostly a CCC concern, you can install the 7.2 driver only, then install the 7.1 CCC. That being said, the 6.12 Cats are the best performing driver set i've found for my X1950XT.

I would say so...but they could probably have been implemented into the CP if ATI wanted to.

Get ATi Tray Tools and install the display drivers only, or display drivers with WMD drivers, but do NOT touch CCC, is it clear enough ? In how many languages will it have to be told for some of you guys to understand ? CCC stands for Crap Crap Crap, clear ?

Strange.......CCC works well in my system and ATi tray tools rarely works as well. Now, the DRIVERS, 7.1 and 7.2, don't work very well, but ATi Tray Tools do not let me overclock my 1950 Pro nearly as well as CCC does.

Yeah, it's weird, I also had issues with the CCC in the 7.2 which won't open no matter what I do, I currently use only the 7.2 Driver Set and the Ati Tray Tool and I have seen improvements across in many ways, my 3DMark03 score inflated from 12,122 to 12,736, and F.E.A.R. fears a bit more playable, also on Oblivion.
