i really think nvidia wants to kill AGP ... right now
... depends on ATi ... demand ...etc

i wouldn't look beyond 1950xt ;)
[and i sure as heck didn't expect it ... what do you think $299?]
:Q

I agree, I think that nVidia isn't too crazy about AGP. ATi is trying to keep it alive as a VGA interface, which is something of a smart idea and something of a folly. I guess it all depends on how many consumers stick with AGP as Vista and DX10 fully roll around in middle-end 2008 (my approximate guess as to when things will really start to blossom).

Both are fallcies and you just commited both.

Uhh, whatever, he made a point by bringing up a possible simulation.

As I remember most people that posted that, just had gotten new PCI-E rigs and needed to justify that purchase ;)
All helped along by the PR from Intel, NVIDIA, ATI ect. that wanted people to buy new motherboards.

A question of theorethical bandwith versus actual bandwith use ;)

You wrote that Powercolor had a x1950xt AGP card on display. Can you confirm this?

Thanks, Many AGP users

talk about wishful thinking in this thread. I doubt we'll see any really highend cards on AGP ever. The x1950pro is like mid-highend, and because of power issues also it will probably be the last AGP card, unless they get smart and release a mid range Dx 10 card for AGP.

Don't get me wrong i'm not hating on AGP.

As one of those guys said before i'm one of those NF3 Opteron 170 Users on a X800XTPE AGP. So this is actually something i'm considering. But if the price isnt' right i'm better off just going with a PCI E board and a X1950XT 256mb!

Not gonna pay anything Over $350 Cdn for a AGP 1950pro 256mb or 512mb, that would be futile and pointless.

Call it what ever you want, but with my CPU I can get a huge boost over the X850XT PE with a high end AGP card....

I love how some people think that I have been banned before, because I have been reading on these boards for years and not felt the need to utter my voice for a long while.
I will leave it up to Anandtech and their moderators to take action if that is the case.(that I have been banned before)
If none is taken, I can only smile at personal attacks, which IMHO serves no purpose other than to reveal that some people can't put together a descent argument and need to resort to personal attacks instead

Let?s get better moderation on this board that I have read for a long time, but never been banned form.

If you want to attack me, do so with arguments and not childish trolling.

Me thinks you doth protest too much.

Doesn't matter any way as this is Video so there's not a mod in-sight.

So welcome long time lurker.

I'm in Australia and had my card shipped over from the states. The graphics cards cost 50% more (sometimes double) than what they do in the US anyway, even after currency conversion. Might as well pay less for shipping, shipping isn't a hundred bucks. Case in point:

http://www.shopbot.com.au/p-35892.html

Selling Sapphire x1950xt cards to people in AU for AU$427.90 = US$342.32

http://www.newegg.com

Selling Sapphire x1950xt cards for US$220.00

Also, you can buy x1950Pro 512MB cards in AU, go here:

http://www.umart.com.au

Graphics cards aren't the only things here that cost 50% more, almost everything does...games, computer components, petrol, property, you name it. You Aussies are getting robbed blind. I can say you have better quality coffee, though, even than the Pacific Northwest, and that is saying a lot!

Oh, also, you can't get unlimited access DSL/cable internet in AU, try playing online games when you are paying for usage! You'll really notice it at the end of the month.

MrGrey, did you, by any chance, take your time to read the thread, or at least the tittle?

Ah, unless you meant the kind for AGP, nevermind, I hadn't realized one had come out for AGP.

Yeah, I'm waiting for the AGP version...The Sapphire may not arrive in Australia till late febuary according to suppliers which suck ass big time...cause I want one now.

But I know what you mean by purchasing parts from the US...I purchased my BFG 7800GS from the US and saved nearly AU$200....and that included shipping!

Um, yes, title says x1950xt for AGP, not x1950pro for AGP. There are some cards you can't get in any form (PCI-e or AGP) in Australia, and some are just plain hard to find. I was throwing out a site that has fairly good selection and had x1950pro with 512mb for Stumps' info, and I didn't know there was a an AGP version of the card. Stumps didn't specify which version he was looking for.

I think we computer savy folks are all getting a bit too sarcastic, me included. :p

So far we seem to be relying on the word of one reviewer who visited a trade show. Why isn?t this all over the web? Why did PowerColor only show the card to him?

Call me a sceptic, but I think he?s taking us for a ride, or has his wires crossed. Nonetheless, I hope it eventuates. :)
