with all do respect, QFT, get a 7900 GTX which has just PROs and no cons. Fast, cheaper then 7950GX2, will easily handle 1920x1440, runs cool and reliably.

This is definitely NOT true...the Techreport review of the 7950GX2 says it is still only a 512mb frame buffer...You do not get 1gb of video memory. It has the same limitation as if you had 2 7900GTXs in SLI. THey market it as a 1gb card but you certainly do not get a 1gb frame buffer, its only 512mb.

Yeah, I thought so too at first. Each GPU has 512 to work with, yet the PCI-E lane still draws 1GB total to the 3D app. Think of it like a dual core processor with 2 MB cache, 1mb for each core. The CPU still has 2MB of cache.
