X1800XT Crossfire Master card in stock

Hmmm... I just looked at that link again on monarch, and compared it to the PDF... I'm a bit confused. The 3040 part number on the PDF doesn't say anything about it being a Xfire card, nor does That PDF list a normal X1800XT, just a 256MB one. You would think that if Connect3D had a Xfire card and a regular XT with 512MB, they would have different part numbers. Additionally, the 3040 is dual DVI...? How can that be? What would you connect the dongle to?

These pictures show the Xfire card as having one DVI and one "Xfire" connector.

Looks like Monarch has the same product number listed as a regular XT as well. I think Monarch might have goofed this up.

Do some research please. Of course they did, but they took less of a hit then NV cards. Just not based ont echreports review but others as well. When you up the AA/AF setting the X1800Xt really stands out from the GTX. Same would probably apply to dual graphic card solutions..

Okay Cookie, whatever......I know what I'd be buying, if I had the money and the monitor to go with it. However as I said, too last on ATI part really considering the new products coming out in Jan alledgedly

Actually I have some video cards still going strong that are 5 years old. The video card in my main box is about 2 years old and when I get a new computer it will go in to another box that I use.

I also run my own business and a lot of those cards just do 2d and so don't need to be upgraded every week.

So yes a warranty of 1 or 2 years just sucks compared to a lifetime warranty.

I notice a lot of people on this forum still running 4200ti's and 9800pro's, I bet they would be happy to get another one free if it died today.

It would be odd for Monarch to have them and no one else. Unless they are paper launching em as well.

Are you a NV fanboy? No one here can deny that Ati has the edge in IQ. No one can deny Ati can do HDR plus 4xAA or even 6xAA (it is playable, because ATi takes like 5~10% hit when AA is enabled unliek NV which takes a hit of 20ish% when AA is enabled) but NV cant. No one here can deny that Ati has angle independent AF which is far superior to what NV has.

Considering all this, Crossfire although new looks more affractive for those with money of course. Brillant IQ, soon to be annoucned AVIVO which ATi has been bragging about (hoping it wont turn into another pure video debacle), No more resolution issue, Playable super AA (however SLi AA and Super Aa works differently), and of course performance being improved everytime the new drivers are released.

For an IQ junkie this is a better buy than the GTX/GT setup.

Btw 7800GT Sli beats all of them, since its so cheap to have the GT Sli setup for its performance. Unfortunately for Ati, X1800XL needs a X1800XT CF to be crossfired meaning its betetr to buy the 7800GT due to being it faster, cheaper and the fact you can grab another 7800GT later on compared to the X1800XL.

I just wish NV can extend their dual solution abit better. Like better implementation of the SLi AA so its playable, better use of the 2x PCI-e 16x lanes for mroe performance, etc etc.

Cant wait for Sli2. probably included with G80
