"Topic Title: X1800XT Crossfire Master card in stock
Topic Summary: At MonarchPC, $624 OEM"

Awesome news, not too terrible of a price. Hopefull it will drop to the price of a regular X1800XT soon.

"And more good news for consumers, Powercolor released a XT/PE bios for the X1800. 700/800."

Very cool, but, I'd ask the same question that Otispunkmeyer has. "can they gurrantee that every PC X1800XT will be fine at those speeds?"

Kind of a "ballsy" thing for powercolor to do, so they must have full confidence that their cards can handle it.

Couple that with the surprisingly low price of the Asus A8R-MVP (~$140), and this get more tempting.

Actually I think that the Xfire Edition of the X1800XL is simply labeled as "X1800 CrossFire Edition". The part number is 100-435716. If you google that, you will find stores that reference this card, but none have them in stock and they are way overpriced at the moment. It's really too bad that ATI couldn't make Xfire work with two normal cards. It was predicted that the XFire cards would be more expensive, and it appears to be the case. The XT Xfire card isn't insanely priced or anything, but they are more expensive.

Hey Nitro, are you going to flash to the 700/800 bios and see if the cut to a one year warranty matters or not?
;)

Given ATI's recent track record on that front, I'd say we can expect the cards to be generally available before Christmas, but I wouldn't bet the bank on immediate gratification.

ATi's "recent" track recrord has been good, as far as launches. Looks like the reviewer was flat out wrong, since it is available today.

Flat out wrong? Isn't today a day that's before christmas? :b
