i have one.

i picked it up in the fs/ft forum here for $140 shipped (guy even threw in a vf900). i'd say its a pretty good card in the price range it actually sells in which is ~$200 new. 7900GTs cost $300+ and you cant even find them anywhere. a x1800XL is a much better comparison to the 7900GT and they sell for about $250 which seems pretty fair since the 7900gt is $300.

Do you have any pics? Have you tried to push the clock frequency on it yet?

i actually sold it on ebay. i plugged it in and tried to unlock it, but i found it was not one of the unlockable ones. so i sold it, and then lo and behold some guy on ebay was selling an x1800xl for $209 shipped on ebay.

so oh well, i'd rather have the full un crippled thing. now to buy aoe3.

It's been out a while now and I STILL don't see any of the local stores I go to (check out) stocking them.

975 intel chipset will support both. I am looking at a 975 Yonah board and it is Crossfire and SLI capable!

I'm waiting on the x1900 midrange cards. The X1800 series was late to arrive and by that time didn't stack up that well to Nvidia, but the X1900 high end cards are kickass.

I had a Connect3D X1800GTO. It didn't unlock for me, and the performance wasn't very impressive. It was pretty much on par with my eVGA 7600GT @ 580/1500...unfortunately, after I got rid of the card, my friend convinced me to pick up Oblivion, and the ATI card would have been much better for me...ah well. Can't win em all.
