Hand to hand is totally useless today and a big waste of time. IF a marine is in a fist fight with a Taliban today he screwed up bad.

Really? So there's no way he could get surprised by someone hiding while clearing a building or something, and if he did, he screwed up? Um, no.Hand to hand is totally useless today and a big waste of time. IF a marine is in a fist fight with a Taliban today he screwed up bad.

A knife or bayonet makes more sense for a soldier than breaking out the MMA skillz

You know, back in herp-a-derp, we use to herp-a-derp when herp-a-derp was with herp-a-derp.
But, you never quite herp-a-derp, when herp-a-derp herp-a-derped.... and that was just herp-a-derp!
People always use to herp-a-derp when herp-a-derp was herp-a-derp. And, herp-a-derp was never herp-a-derp.
Herp-a-derp?
takes a puff of a tobacco pile, while looking out into the sunset

True, and their handgun/rifle, or vehicle first.
If you serve long enough in a war on the ground you will get into a fist fight with another soldier or civilian.
If you can't access your gun or knife, you better know how to fight with your hands.
Ninjas practice martial arts with swords and shit. Isn't using a knife or a bayonet standard martial arts stuff that would be covered by most soldiers MMA training?
Also, If I am wrong, knives and bayonets can get "stuck" or wedged. Say you put your bayonet through an enemy soldier, and it gets wedged between some bones or a rock or something. Then you use your knife, and it too gets stuck or wedged ... then you need to break out the hand to hand fighting.
Sounds to me like the typical keyboard/armchair Special Forces soldier that graces forums and YouTube comments with their expertise. "Well here's what I'd do/well here's how it should be done/Why didn't he XYZ" etcAre you truly that ignorant, or are you trolling?
And if you have no hands, with your elbows, knees, wrists, teeth, and your head.... really every part of your body. Like the "tis only a fleshwound" guy in Monty Python.
