And you know what makes this suck even more? There was a very good chance Eddie was going to get the belt, for his second time, this week.

Batista was injured last week in that beating he took from Big Show and Kane, and he needs immediate surjury, and will probably be out for three+ months. And at the end of Smackdown last week, they flashed up a message saying Batista was going to defend the title against Orton and Eddie. The title match totally wasnt part of the story line so it makes sense since Batista is injured.

I havent followed Smackdown much lately, but I know Eddie and Batista have been working together and had a title match at the last PPV, and Eddie has been hot with the fans. I dont know where Orton is at but I believe Eddie would have been the one to get the strap..

Would have been great to see him with the belt once more
