Our exports are falling and now this? I thought that the big 136 Billion tax cut bill (that started out at $10,000,000,000 just to fix this) was supposed to correct this?

I cant say I am surprised. Europe is overtaxed and they are eageer to blame the US for it.

Seems to me like the WTO benefits others at the expense of American industries. Why would we want to level the playing field and give away our advantages, while the other players subsidize their industries by propping up the US dollar.

the WTO doesn't think so and in the end, that's all that matters

has nothing to do with the WTO ruling so I don't know why you are using this

you don't see the euro collapsing anytime soon. pretty much hitting consecutive highs against the dollar every day now

LoL - and people were worried about the UN and handing over the keys to them. The WTO is much worse then the UN because it has real power.....economic power to bring our nation to it's knees.

LOL - Blame Europe for us joining the WTO....Then again Bush isn't fighting this...

Comply or Die.

And besides, you're the ones who use protectionist legislations, even though you supposedly are conservatives. You know, free market and such.

The call is absolutely fair.

True, the overwhelming majority of the EU countries have no or very little national debts, the unemployment rates are going down and the economy as a whole is growing.

BTW, i have seen unemployment rates compared between the US and EU countries, however, the US unemployment figures is taken from anyone who is actually collecting unemployment while the EU counts EVERYONE, if the EU were to use the US system we would average 1%.

Just thought i'd mention that.

A taste of your own damn medicine!...the US has been putting tarrifs on Canadian things quite recently, even with Canada's backing from NAFTA rulings. You guys gotta play fair or you are gonna get screwed in the long run.

Lest we forget the steel issue, not so long ago...

It's all about playing fair. And the WTO is there mto enforce fairplay, like it or not. It's not all about you, remember that.

the people around here respect the WTO about as much as the UN...which is too bad...both institutions try to have the world's best interests at heart...even if it doesnt seem like it.

Exactly, it is not like the US has never profited from WTO tariffs and sanctions.

WTO has to keep the trade fair, sometimes it is a sweet deal, other times it sucks but the alternative would probably suck a lot more.

Most do see the good things, others got a case of megalomania and wants to put the US above every other country, rulers of the world complex i guess.

A fair open market is regulated, it would TRULY suck for the US (and EU too) if it wasn't.

Incorrect. The US umemployment rate is caluclated by survey, not by who is on the unemployment rolls. Everyone is counted.

I am fairly certian the legislation in question is the corperate tax code.

Bah, i'm a bit to confused to find out exactly what it was about. But it's the Byrd amendment the ruling is against. It was declared illegal 2 years ago aswell.
