I had to go back to 5.2 for everything to work.
WTH did you install new drivers for in the first place? I bought a 9800 Pro two Decembers ago and installed the 3.10s. They never gave me a problem, so I never changed drivers. I got a new hard drive a few months ago and when I reinstalled everything, I went with the latest drivers: 4.12. No problems. What's the point to changing drivers if everything works? Supposedly there was a performance boost from going from 3.10 to 4.12, but I sure as heck don't see it.
I've never had trouble with ATI drivers (but my first ATI card was the 9800 Pro). nVidia's drivers haven't worked very well since the FX series. I've tried some of the newer drivers on my GF2/3/4's, and I keep reverting to the 45.23's since they run better
you're right! I shouldn't have installed the new drivers.....if it ain't broke don't fix it.
so yes, I got greedy and wanted a little more performance, the end result due to piss poor drivers and programming, is that my TV wonder pro is now broke and I have no way to fix it.
I searched all over and people have said to go back to MMC 8.8...but it did not do a darn thing for me. It has been documented by many others before me that ATI MMC software sucks, this is a fact and I'm just trying to fix what ATI can't. If they were as good as everyone said, why can't their new software remove the old ones?
Also, every Dell 2405fp owner has had this problem upgrading from cat 5.2 to 5.3 or 5.4. You would thing ATI gets complaints for 5.3s and solved the problem in 5.4? Either that or they just don't care?
