It's just Steve Jobs getting hackers to do his dirty work. Leading to the downfall of Windows.

Apple is a hardware company. Their software sells their hardware.

Apple is a systems/software company.
They make the OS and put together the machines, they don't make the hardware (generic RAM, IBM processors, nVidia/ATi graphics etc).
They do their own monitors and accessories though, but they are not a hardware company in the sense that ATi/Intel/etc are

Of course it will run much quicker on a PC, everyone already knew that before this. This was just 100% irrefutable proof. Mac processors have been much slower then PC procs especially in the last couple years. And even more especially in laptops.

Right. Their bread and butter is system sales.

It only appears faster on PeeCees because they've never seen it running on a true Mac hardware. Also it's probably nowhere near as feature packed as the full Mac OS X running on Mac hardware so of course even with lower end (x86) hardware, it'll perceptively be faster but it really isn't. Consider the amount of problems you'll get with Intel hardware than a Mac and it'll quickly be obvious that the Mac hardware is superior. Jobs is only doing this to engulf the PeeCee world and then take over with far superior PowerPC RISC hardware when it all collapses.

Apple doesn't really make their monitors. I believe the lcd screen is provided by Samsung.

Why must you make yourself look like a fool every time you post about Macs? And your post is based purely on assumptions.

EDIT: and TPAD

No, I downloaded it the other day.

BTW, did you get it to work yet? And what system are you trying it on?

I got it to work somewhat.

The first problem I was having was due to the unzip utlility I was using. With ZipGenius, all the files were there but the main image file was only 2 gigs. I tried it both here and at work, and it wouldn't work. Then I downloaded WinRAR and used that, and using that the image file comes out to be 6 gigs. It boots up on my Athlon2000 but the only thing that my MacOS says is that I need to restart my computer. I don't think I have SSE2, which is required.

Therefore I should have more success on my P-M or my desktop P4.

isn't this kinda moot considering they're going to start making macs with intel chips anyway?
