He could work for any number of companies. We charge $100k per copy for our client software (which comes with about $10k in hardware as well). Software with a limited target audience is expensive.

check out this little gem i just received. i asked him about quad core procs.
A quad core would be licensed at 2.5 CPU. If the box had two quad-core CPU?s then it would require a 5 CPU license.
so 80K X 5 = $400,000 in licening for one server.
i think my bosses will have some meetings and start looking a Cognos but i have no idea what their pricing scam is either.
