Of course you could do a Bush spin on that statement and say that you really didn't mean that any US soldiers were "mindless thoughtless murders" (a statement that doesn't make much sense) but that would only prove that you are becoming what you fear as Moonbeam would put it.

Has anyone pointed out that in most third world nations (especially ones with active conflicts), people pack Ak's around for protection. Kids going to the market or for water. If you're male, you probably have a gun. So... the buying and selling of said guns is pretty common.

Again, not condeming this particular incident, or any of the soldiers, but it might not be a bad idea to do some adjustment to ROE's to make sure you arent killing someone who is intent on protecting themselves against roving bandits and baathists.

I'll never forget watching some ex-General relate the time he first saw Saddam's guys dip a gagged and bound person into a pool of acid by their hair. Uday's favorite was the dog pit I believe.

Where did you get the story about the plastic shredder? I'd need to see some kind of proof otherwise it's just another hospital full of babies on the floor taken from their incubators by the Iraqi troops.

There are, as has been posted ad infinitum on these forums, dictators, tyrants, megalomaniacs, sociopaths, and all manner of vermin ruling countries all over the world, many of them, including Saddam Hussein, who were aided or placed in power with the assistance and the full faith and credit of the US GOVERNMENT.

Why Iraq?
Why now?
Where are the WMD used as an excuse to begin this invasion?
Where is the terrorist link between Iraq and Al Qaeda?
Where is the imminent threat Iraq posed to the USA?

This entire Iraq affair was a scam built on lies for what ends we can only guess.

Now we have US soldiers out of their element. Being peacekeepers. Sitting targets. Over reacting. Now we have murdered civilians. Because that's what the Iraqi people are going to see.

Don't you get it? It was all unnecessary. All based on lies. This is probably the lowest point in American history.

And men drunk with power are using the Armed Forces of the United States to run foreign policy. The root problems are not being addressed. This has been tried many times throughout history and never with good results.

It was all unnecessary. We weren't being threatened. There were no nukes. No WMD. No delivery method. Bush lied.
