I saw something in WSJ on AMD. Seems this could be a make or break for them. Here I've never owned an AMD, always had an Intel Processor (except a couple of years when I first learned programming on an Apple). People do need to support them, and I'm seriously considering this upgrade path. Intel without competition means no new chipsets until after they've bled all they can from the consumer. The computer world would be a much colder place without AMD, at least in a form it can compete with Intel.
