WTF: Just got a ticket for STREET SWEEPING

AkumaX

Alright, I'm sitting on the porch browsing ATOT camping the spot until I see the street sweeper come. When it arrives from the corner of the street, the ticket lady in her car zooms down my street, so I go to my car and procede to move it. She then tells me that one of the cars in my driveway is sticking out a little bit. I said no its not, but she says you'd better move it. Naturally I was like WTF but I move it anyway. My car is already in the middle of the street, but the street sweeper didn't get the "edge" of the curb. She then slaps a ticket on my window and then haul's ass. W..T..F.. :|

edit: meant to say "curb" instead of sidewalk

Do you have sidewalks? I'm just curious. Since if you did, you'd be breaking the law for blocking a sidewalk with your vehicle.

Back to the subject. If it truely isn't blocking the street, take photos before you move your car again - maybe it'll help you fight your ticket.

you should write novels

I understood it. Still stupid. Why did you wait for the last second before moving your car if you knew they were coming???

Care to translate?
He was parked on the side of the street that was being cleaned.
He sat on the porch waiting for the street sweeper to come.
He begins to move his car when he saw the meter maid coming ahead of the street sweeper.
Meter maid tells him that another car in his driveway is sticking out.
He moves up the other car, leaving his car parked in what he considers a legal manner (this is the confusing part).
He gets a ticket on his car because the streetsweeper couldn't sweep a section near the curb.

I just think it's weird that you have street sweepers and are forced to move your cars for them. It sounds like you live in some freaky 1950's suburbia where the women are chained to the houses and the men complain all day about how the communists are taking over the world. Do you live in a conservative area by any chance?

WTF are you talking about? You've obviously never lived in a large city.

This is like some freaky episode of the Twilite Zone... It's still confusing

I guess it's confusing if you've never dealt with alternate side parking or street sweepers.
