WTF is wrong with PETA?

I agree with some of their views and that animals need to be treated better. But they way they go about trying to promote their cause just turns more people off. The should do like Ned and Jimbo on the Southpark episode with the flag and the KKK. PETA should say that they love KFC and they want everybody to go there everyday, then nobody would go b/c everyone hate PETA.

I do believe that this will backfire in their faces.

Sorta like the genius plan to shroud deer in blaze orange during shotgun season making it EASIER for hunters to see the deer! 😛

oh man, i remember hearing about it. unfortunately i did a search to re-read the story and i came up with this

If someone from PETA hands me a bucket like that, I can forsee myself throwing it back at them, and then blacking out, and waking up to a bloodied PETA corpse.

It doesn't take too much to realize that most chickens are raised in some pretty horrible circumstances. If peta is wild and outlandish for pointing that out to you then there isn't much to be said.

I'll be over to throw a bucket of dead field mice and rabbit blood at your house shortly. Don't worry - it's just my way of demonstrating the horrid deaths that befall these animals during vegetable harvest season. If that offends you, then there isn't much left to be said.

Do you know any numbers, or are you gonna continue using that BS argument like every other ignorant meat eater?

So now every meat eater is ignorant? Oh please shut up before you make a bigger fool of yourself.

PETA makes me want to be mean to animals to spite them. I wanna go to their protest and play chickenball (baseball with a chicken) until the stupid hippies leave. Seriously, part of their campaigns to mess with children is just plain crazy.

I won't argue. However, you are discussing the rights and treatment of chicken that would never even had been born were it not for the public's demand to eat them.
And if all PETA were doing was education and pointing out the horrible conditions that those chickens exist in, but you and I both know that PETA does a lot more than that. Instead, they are radical militants that are seeking to force the world into their unrealistic ideal. They have made both their zeal for their cause and their hatred of the human race very well known.

Yeah, thats exactly what I said. You suck at comprehension, stay out of this thread.

Many meat eaters have made such an argument, and they are wrong. That is all. Certainly not every meat eater is ignorant, many know the truth, yet they continue to eat meat, and that is fine. However, to say that the animals killed in the harvest of food is anywhere near the magnitude of the animals slaughtered for meat is nothing short of blashphemy.

You're dumb.

Handing out buckets of blood is extreme but they have a valid point. How else are people going to listen to them? I'm guessing most people are unaware of how these the animals that eventually become their food are treated, so this may get them to think. Their action here isn't very tasteful (especially giving this crap to kids) but at least they're doing something instead of remaining apathetic.

I eat meat, yah it sucks animals are treated like sh!t..

If PETA wants to do something about it, time to pull out the Pen, the sword only works in 1 on 1's 😉

It's not that I'm "ignorant", it's that it simply doesn't matter to me. I do not care under what circumstances chicken live their lives, so long as the food I eat is free of bacteria and whatnot. I have more important things to worry about in my life.

Why is it wrong to hand out buckets of blood? Can't your kids handle the truth or do you want them to believe that chicken nuggets grows on vines?

While it isn't great that the chickens are mistreated...we're the top of the food chain and the Human race wouldn't be where it is today without meat.

Humans evolved as hunter gathers whose main food source was meat...the large amount of calories that meat afforded us, coupled with the brain size needed to be a successful predator allowed us to evolve into the most intelligent species on earth. Thats why I eat meat. Because I'm suppose too.

And its delicious. 🙂

Personally, I couldn't care less about animals harvested for food. It must really suck to be towards the bottom of the food chain...glad it's not me. As long as the meat is disease-free (post-cooking) I don't really care.

Whats wrong with eating chickens? can't you handle that humans are omnivores?

A label on the bucket says "Just for you, KFC's suppliers cram thousands of chickens into filthy sheds, sear baby chicks' beaks off with a hot wire, slam the birds into crates (breaking their wings and legs), slice their throats open and scald them to death while they're still conscious. Enjoy."

although somewhat exagerrated, most of it is true. they also grind up chicken parts to feed to chickens, (an actual x-files episode). and industry consolidation by coporations has led to the death of free range chicken

I guess I just care about animals as much as I do humans...

I eat chickens. Free range ones primarily. This campaign isn't about eating meat. It's about cruelty to the animals. Why is it that I'm not allowed to throw puppies on the sidewalk but cows and chickens can wallow in their own waste?
