It seriously is taking me about 15 minutes to go from page to page. its not my internet because i can navigate other sites easily. ATOT's tab takes SOOOOOOO long to reload. It started around noon today!

Since I can't post not that often, I also need to know Hoof Harted?

Use Adblock, block that subdomain, and set it to "remove ads" (not "hide ads"). Problem fixed.

I'm fine with supporting a site by displaying the ads, especially one like this that I frequent, but the site is slow and usually waiting on dynamic2 to load a banner or something. With that blocked, page changes are nearly instantaneous.

Been having the same problem as you OP. It's been on and off for a while. But yes, it's back to being normal now.

What was strange for me was my desktop wouldn't load dynamic2.anandtech.com for awhile so I turned on my lappy and with the same ISP connection I could use anandtech.com normally.

I've had that taken care of with my hosts file for many months. It was also causing me problems constantly, hanging up page loads.

Thanks for the tip, sjwaste. Was wondering why everything has been painfully slow the last few days. (okay, so still wondering, just no longer bothered...)

AT speed up, productivity down!

I just installed the firefox add on adblock program.

I put in "dynamic2.anandtech.com as the domain to get filtered.

Where do you set the "remove ads" option?

In Windows XP

(works in Vista, too)

1. Click Start->All Programs->Accessories->Command Prompt
2. Click Command Prompt This will open a DOS command window.
3. Type: notepad C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc/hosts
4. Locate the line 127.0.0.1 localhost
5. To block the website dynamic2.anandtech. com for example, just add this text under 127.0.0.1 localhost:

127.0.0.1 dynamic2.anandtech.com

Shamelessly stolen from another message board that shall remain nameless. :D
