The whole damn month has had nothing but alternating downpours and sun.

My grass has never looked greener, but if I have to cut it more than twice a week I'm going to blow a gasket.

High pressure to the South is keeping everything bottled up there. Vaguely similar to the floods of 93.

Hey, rain. It's water that comes from they sky. You know how if you leave a half-full bottle of water in the sun on a warm day, droplets of water will stick to the sides where there's no water? That's evaporation. It happens with lakes and stuff, too. So when a lot of these lake-droplets get together, they form a cloud, which is like a big droplet BBQ. Then sometimes a lot of clouds get together and make a storm, that's kind of like a whole mess of tailgate parties at a game. It's realistic, too. Droplets will crash into each other and fall down, just like drunk guys at a tailgate party. Then, a whole freaking lot of these droplets get together- it's like Droplet*Con. They all make these huge clouds, and start falling down like crazy. That's a downpour.

:D

I've only felt one VERY minor earthquake in 4 years here.

How many thunderstorms have you had in the past 4 years? ;)

I had to turn in a paper this morning by 10:30. I look outside before leaving and its JUST STARTED to pour like hell with thunder and lightning to boot. So it?s 10:05 and I run to the car which is 5 seconds away. I totally get soaked and taking an umbrella would have been pointless. After I get to school and turn it in, our secretary isn?t even there, so I slip it under the door and shrug it off. Walking back to the front door, everyone is looking at me like I?ve been through the worst monsoon ever. What do I see?? The rain is gone and the skies are starting to clear. Gosh I was like WTF?

I swear I must have been the only one to get drenched like that. Stupid mini-thunderstorm lasted 15 mins and I had to be right in the middle of it. It hasn?t rained like that here for a LONG TIME.

At least I got the paper turned in.

Severe weather system #4 is now here and it is pouring again. I have never seen this much rain. It should be an interesting drive to work this morning.

This is ridiculous...plus the warning siren for weather and (presumably) air raids is about 150 yards from my apartment. BTW, there's (yet another) massive weather crap coming across from wisconsin for us today....

Damn that siren. 3 times in the last day and a half.

And earthquakes are fun (well, the overpass thing applies)....grew up in San Diego. Will take tstorms, seasons, and nature over that parched desert of concrete and silicone anyday.
