WTF is up with Steam?

Why the hell does it update without first asking permission? POS...

I hate Steam. I am giving up on Counter-Strike like many of you already have.

I haven't had any problems with Steam. Downloaded the full thing and everything has worked fine. The only problem I ran into was that the friend's network was down for a while but it's working now

I know, but I don't want it to update without first asking the admin before. It just starts to update itself after booting up and you cannot cancel it.

I like steam. It lets you find servers in windows. Also you can alt tab now.

Because it's slow and sucks up all your bandwidth for like 8 hours.

Man I don't think Steam is all that bad. Once the little bugs are found and fixed, Steam is going to be a lot better than WON. I think so anyways. I'm not having any problems using Steam. I hate the shield exploit people use in 1.6 more than I hate Steam.

The whole point behind STEAM is automatic updates. Its gonna download patches automatically. Find a less shi1ty game. Stop crying.

I agree completely. They should toss shields out the window. I quit playing 1.6 because of shield exploit abuse.

Installed it yesterday, Updated CS and let it Cache everything without any problems. Haven't tried playing Online yet though.

You can shot with out moving your sheild out of the way. Not sure how to do it but I think if you buy a sheild and then "use it" then purchase a gun it will allow the gun to shot through the sheild. Or maybe it's if you buy the gun first and fire off a few rounds then buy t he sheild...

Anyways. If we know of anyone on our server that uses the exploit the get banned no questions asked. We have it posted in our MOTD and if any of our regs notice someone doing it we have asked then to go to our forums and post the offenders name so we can ban them.

I'm sure it will get fixed soon.

donno...most people hate steam because it came with a nice big present of bugs......

donno..i like the friend system, and finding servers and updating servers is much easier than before...and switching btwn mods is easier...b4, it was hell sorting through servers btwn mods....


steam's ok...when it came out, i hated it because it was full of bugs and to run it was pretty frustrating due to these bugs...but they've seem to have died down considerably

Its been forever, they should've fixed this crap a while ago. Isn't this the REASON steam is being used? To stop exploits and cheating... with fast updates and a community you can get the bad apples thrown out of...

lol..steam invited a ton of n00bs all of a sudden....and all the good players went away...

i'm dominating in too many servers....too easy....and my roommate got banned from a server for "cheating"....the server was too n00bie that he went 30-1......and they banned him from the server...stupid..hehe
