I hear all these things about JDM Civics/Accords - is JDM a legit tuner (ie, a Saleen/Lingenfelter) or just a parts shop?

Well most people don't expect a high performance engine to last as long as a normal Toyota/Nissan/Honda engine would due to the flogging and added stress though.

Well people aren't buying them for reliability. They're already well built engines so if you take care of them they'll still do fine. Like Kokomo explained, I'll be getting a vairant that wasn't offered in the US cheap with relatively low mileage (under 35k).
