Just out of curiosity; if someone dared you to stick your hand into an unflushed urinal how much $ would they have to offer you?

I dunno. Its disgusting, but technically Urine IS sterile.

Not once it touches another surface, or air, or worse - stagnates in a public urinal.

I'm guessing that it's sterile in an ideal sense. It would also pick up stuff in the body on the way out.

The thing is, it didn't die, he thought it might die but it didn't, it just wouldn't die.
Like a wounded chick fallen out of it's nest that's given a second chance.

$50. Its sterile and nothing a good scrub with soap won't get rid of.

A rush of frustration and anger flooded into me for my stupidity. I got so freakin' mad that I didn't want to just call off my Shuffle and leave. In the heat of the moment, I took my freakin' hand in there and started to claw at my shuffle to pick it up. The urinal hole was not previously flushed. It was bright yellow with my hand all the way into my wrist.

I took it out and washed my hands and the iPod with soap for about 15 mins. I was so mad, I just wanted to hope if it would work after drying it out. A hope in vain.

Jesus... how can you live with yourself! I would have wrote it off immediately and left it there. That or pick it up and cut off/burn hand. Soap even for an hour wouldn't be enough:(.

LOL if you left an Ipod in there, I'm pretty sure it would be gone in a matter of minutes when the next dude walked in to go..

I can see this becoming an epic thread... :D

I once dropped my cell in the toilet in mid call. Thankfully, I hadn't yet actually pissed in it so I fished it out. It was a total loss, but was a good excuse for me to go get a new phone...

As others have mentioned; it's not sterile when it has been fermenting in a urinal.

Anyway, if it is my urine, I may try to fish it out with something other than my digits. If it is someone else's bodily waste; the janitor can have at it.

Read much?

My hand got caught in the headphone wire on the way to the zipper and popped the iPod out of its clip and sprung free from my belt & headphone plug.

If it starts out sterile, then it's no more dirty than if someone poured distilled water into the urinal. Yes it will pick up germs from the things it touches, but so will any other fluid.

Technically, that urine shouldn't be significantly more dirty than if it were clear water.

You're lucky that your shuffle works after being submerged in water. The BRAND NEW one I bought last year for my wife didn't even work when it came out of the box.

Apple wanted to send me a 'fixed' one and didn't refund my money until I called AMEX. Apple is an evil corporation that sells sub-par electronics made from cheap laborors in China.

I wonder if you try to return it to the Apple store, will it show up as flagged in the computer?

You gotta love AMEX customer support. I have never worried about a purchase since I started using them as much as possible. With the free added warranties, it doesn't make sense not to use them.
