It's time to realise that voting for your philosophy rather than for your wallet just makes others rich at your own expense.
You are in a trance and need to snap out of it, b/c you are eating a line of BS that would make a false preacher blush.

So tell me, do you really think that if Gore had been elected that gas would be much if any cheaper.
I really just want to see how uninformed you are about why gasoline is high right now.
People in the US feel the pain because they drive pathetically inefficient vehicles. Few people with a civic right now are kept up at night over gas prices. If your road-tank gets 16 mpg on premium though you may be.While in Europe, they have an alternative transportation that they can rely on, so the price of gasoline does not impact them as much as it impacts us here. Of course, we feel the pain much more with the rising of the gas price.
How do you know it's a con now? That's like people who warned the US gov't about terrorism. Oh, they were wrong so many times...but look, in 9/11 it happened. Oil is finite and everybody knows that. There will be a peak hit and pain for a lot of people. It may not be now, but just because it wasn't in the 70's doesn't mean it ever will be. I'd almost like to see it run out just to spite some of you old foggies who think that it will never run outOriginally posted by: phantom309
I was alive in the 70s, and what they actually said was that the price of gas would level off at around $10/gal by 1985, that the internal combustion engine was obsolete, and that the world would run completely out of oil by the mid 90s. It was a con then, it's a con now.
