WTF, did they toss a live horse off a cliff??

Based on the number of horses on that narrow cliff, it could possibly have just fallen off by accident.

I would hope it were an accident, but if so where is the rider? Hard to see, but pausing it looks like they all have riders. If a guy fell off in that run, he must have been severely injured.

Look at its legs kicking and the horse obviously thinking "WTF!!!" at the very first millisecond you see it falling...definitely real, definitely alive, definitely fucked.

That's the part I was trying to figure out, it's miniscule, but I swear I can see the legs moving before the first impact.

Many horses were killed in the early days of filmmaking. The tripwires they used before activism forced them to stop broke their legs. I'm not sure about the 60's with foriegn fims though.

Absolutely. At the very beginning, when the horse has only fallen a couple feet, you can see it's legs kicking like its trying to climb up the cliff. That's pretty fucked up.

Seems from looking online that it may have been an old/ill horse that was soon to die anyways...makes sense to me honestly. If its going to die anyways why not video tape it?

Probably because tossing a horse off a cliff is pretty sadistic and not a humane way to put it down.
