This Limited Warranty shall be null and void if the AMD microprocessor which is the subject of this Limited Warranty is used with any heatsink/fan other than the one provided herewith.

Since the stock sink/fan doesnt come with AS but with a pad ,then it voids the warranty to use anything on it..

I don't think so. You're still using the same HSF..
In fact, AMD told me to apply a thermal compound (s/a AS) when the thermal pad was messed up (carelessness on my part).. I don't think they'd recommend anything that would void their warranty.

Wow, great service from the Monarch guys. Them comming over here to give in a word and get involved with the community shows they care. Keep up the Great service and the Outstanding quality.

I just recently purchased an msi neo2 platinum motherboard from them and they processed it very quick and upgraded my ground shipping to 2day fedex!! should be comming in a few hours now and i cant wait to get my rig put together!

Thanks MCS.

ayman, let us know how that MB works out. I have seen may threads lately about problems with it not posting (including my own, ;) ).
I belive (or at least I hope) there seems to be alot of threads about this mainly because alot of people have this board. Anyways, I hope you have zero problems!

We will now be moving to a poicy where thermal compound misuse will void the warranty, rather than just the use of metallic compound altogether. We understand that many users do know how to apply compund correctly, but there are users out there who do not. Basically so long as the compound is not on the motherboard or in the processor socket we will honor the warranty.

this sounds very reasonable.

Did you read any of the thread?

This is more like:
Dealer: Did you change the oil yourself?
You: Yes.
Dealer: Well you might have done it incorrectly...Warranty Void!

Well, this policy is going to be changed. It was listed in the terms and conditions, as well as in an included paper with combo orders that metallic based thermal compounds voided Monarch warranties. It was made known that it would void the warranty, so its not something that was just thrown in there after the fact. All of this is not really my area, but we are changing the terms and conditions to allow the proper use of AS as well as other thermal compounds. This will be changed very shortly on our website, because well, you demanded it. ;)

I have to say that while reading this I started to get a little worried about my ordering from Monarch. Ordered a A64 3200 and Neo2 Plat just after Christmas and was very pleased with their service and good info from rep I talked to on the phone. After reading this thread I will definetly be ordering from them again. Way to go Monarch.

I'll make this short and brief:

I've noticed on this forum as well as this thread that alot of individuals deem themselves magnificent because they can piece a computer together and disperage those who cannot. Thats so ignorant it boggles the mind. I could discuss why but with such ignorance I hardly think it would be grasped and as a result some may even resort to flaming.

A second thing, please leave your anger and dissatisfaction with your job, wife, kids, life, etc. on your desktop. I read this thread and theres all this name calling and what not. People seem to be just looking for conflict.

Lasltly, I agree with Ike0069. i'm glad he presisted and just did'nt giveup. Some posters blindly place their trust in the hands of these companies. If man could be trusted there would be no checks or balanced in our government and dont even start that apples and oranges rhetoric(see holographic universe). Regardless of their policy "Yall folks need to get outta that box now. ya hear?"

That's why I started using the Arctic Silver Ceramique. It's neither conductive nor capacitive, and seems to cool as well as AS5. Just a quick comment...

Just heard from AMD. My CPU would not post for them either, so they are going to send me a new one.
But they don't have ANY Winchester's in stock. So they are going to send me a 3500+ (I returned a 3000+) Newcastle. That sounds like a good deal to me.:D
I'm still waiting to hear from Monarch about my MB.

No winchester in stock!!!! Wow they must be moving a shitload of them...Yeah it is a decent deal since the dual channel doesn't make as much of a differemce as that added speed....

What abiout a mobo now??? That sckt 939 mobo you had isn't going to work for you. Is monarch sending another like board back or goig to let you trade it in for a sckt 754 mobo now???

The S754 2.2GHz Newcastle is a 3400+.

But thank's for looking out. I had to go verify that real quick.

Oh that is good...I forgot about thast one...I was thinking the 3800+ and 4000+ were the only sckt 939 newcastles...

Not sure why they would be OOS on the Winchester's. Maybe they are just trying to get rid of all the Newcastles.:)

between the 3 sites I visit I would say this was the busiest 3 months of cpu upgarding and buying I have seen in a long time....ppl are high on these new A64's, I would say on average the ones that post (and that could be misleading in a amd favored climate like this) were going 3:1 to amd and about 2:1 to winnies over newcastles....

I hope we atrt seeing the push to the newer SS/SOI chips.....I want another one here with in the month to try higher!!!

Well, I think that's poopoo too.

Though, AMD 64 FX 55 states that if you use anything other than the supplied(POS) cooling fan they provide for their CPU, then that voids warranty.

Geesh AMD, Sorry if I wanted to throw your POC away and replace it with watercooling and a paste thats made of more than bat guano!

You all see though this don't ya? They're just protecting themselves from all the bad apples who have no clue how to apply cooling or thermal paste properly, and or don't bother to educate themselves before applying it with a paintbrush.

Believe me, there are lots of idiots out there, that spoil it for us informed bunch.

Realize that AMD does not void the warranty for using a different TIM, only for using a different HSF. I agree that they should have a list of approved HSF combos that are allowed to be used. But I belive that this is to cut down on RMA's from OC'd CPU's more than anything else.
