wtf? 70% believe Saddam, 9-11 link????

I am not one of those 70%. I dont connect Al-Qaeda and Saddam in my mind in any real context. However, I do not think that all the people that do comprise those 70% use that to justify the war in their minds. A majority probably do, but not all of them. I'm sure there is another poll on that subject out there somewhere...

To think that some things don't need to stay classified is foolish.
To think that some things that are classified should never be revealed is equally foolish. Iraq's a "done deal". Why hasn't the truth been revealed? Will this be another "lock the records up for 70 years" kindof deal? CADGuy, if this were any other president you'd at least raise an eyebrow.

We have captured senior Al Qaeda in Germany, France, Britian, Pakistan, Indonesia, Thailand, Jordan, etc. They are all in on it as well unless they can prove otherwise.
And so is the US, since there were or are Al Qaeda operatives here.

I do raise an eyebrow, I would like to know what is "classified" too. But I also understand that there are many things about the situation that I/we might not be aware of, so to condemn it as "hiding something" is a tad presumptuous. But some here will do anything to paint certain things/people as a "disaster".

I raised both eyebrows when I heard a couple of Congressmen who read the classified material claim there was nothing in the documentation that would compromise national security.

This shows that 100 percent of 70 percent of Americans are dumb.
I disagree . . . I think it shows the power of a simple message. While The News Hour might provide a detailed review of available evidence and perspectives most people get their news from CNN, MSNBC, or one of the crap broadcasters. Whenever you deliver a truncated message invariably the message becomes distorted. The administration has used this environment to their advantage by producing a "theme of the week" . . . or "month" . . . Members of the administration slip multiple iterations of the message into every public event. The press coverage picks up the theme but rarely conveys the distinction between fact and what "so-and-so" said at a press conference.

LOL, clasic. Yet again a group of highly influential computer geeks gather around there computers following perfectly in line with the last thread without actually knowing what it is there talking about. Probably not even knowing why they said it other than the guy befor them posted it, so it must be right. News flash geeks, if your not going to get aways fr4om your comp long enough to watch the news at least surf the web for it. THEY FOUND MANY AL-Quida TRAINING CAMPS IN IRAQ. But for most the gun isnt smoking quite enough is it.

Quick, tell us about ourselves and what we have seen and done. You know all about us, or so it seems.

Now, how many places in the world have Al-Queda trained? I suppose all those countries were responsible for 9/11 too. OMFG! They are all out to get us!!! Run!
Thanks for your input.
Oh, you claim you are going to Iraq. Good luck and keep your head down. I am sure they will all love you, being their liberator and all, but those who went about liberating Vietnam with your attitude were among the first to come back- in body bags.

And BBD,
Yes my prior post was overly terse, however I see a great many representatives of that 70 percent. When casually questioned, every (and I mean every) person eventually ran out of justifications, then defended their position even if they admitted they could not know. That's dumb to me. OK, it was a generalization, and they all are bad 😀 but in all seriousness, lack of critical thinking abounds.

Really? got any evidence of this. They found one in the Kurdish controlled north linked to Ansar al Islam, and they already knew about that one. What is this many you speak of? Where is this smoking gun? If they had found this so called smoking gun why is the government not trumpeting it from the highest mountain tops.

He needs to follow his own advice, get his news from someone other than Rush. Remedial English would help, too, but uninformed nonsense is still nonsense, even if the spelling and grammar are perfect.

Yeah, they found a rusted-out van down by the Tigris River too - I suppose that was the infamous "mobile weapons lab" that we all heard so much about? Oooops!

So your beliefs aren't backed by actual facts? Gotcha. I guess Bush has achieved his faith-based gov't after all...
