Yes, I agree, please put them back together.

For that matter hot deals needs to be condensed back into one forum too.

And yes the freebies thread needs to be moved back too please.

Summed up my thoughts very well.

I understand why. Niether of you have WTB threads that aren't getting any views.
Post a WTB and watch the hits. Then post the same WTB in fs/t and watch.
WTB is almost useless now~!

Agreed. I like the separate forums. This way, it better defines what I want to do when I click on either category. If I'm buying, I go to FS to look for items. If I'm selling, I go to WTB to possibly advertise my FS thread.

Simple.

Yeah, the only way that I would be okay with re-integrating the forums is if EVERY POST had to start with one of the following (i.e. unless the title starts with this, block the post):

FS:
(I have goods that are for sale. I will provide a list of goods and sale prices only.)

FT:
(I have goods that are for trade only. I'm not looking for money. I will list what I have, and give some idea of what I'm looking for.)

FS/FT:
(I have goods that are for sale, or for trade. I will provide a list of goods, sale prices, and possible items that I would like in trade.)

WTB:
(I have something that I want to buy. I will list what I want, and I will pay with cash.)

WTTF:
(I have something that I want to trade for. I will list what I want, and what I have and am willing to trade.)

WTB/WTTF:
(I have something that I want. I will pay cash or trade for it. I will list what I want, and what I have for a potential trade.)

Anything other than that, should not be allowed. Note that in addition to clarifying what each post is for, these would also allow for searches on "FS", "FT", "WTB", "WTTF" to retrieve accurate results. Also, if these subject line prefixes were a requirement, the aforementioned searches would not "miss" any results (for example if someone put "FS/T" and you searched for "FT" threads, you would miss their thread).

I don't understand what the big deal is.
It is obvious that the traders that actually use these two forums on a regular basis want the merged back together.
Several members have left the forums because of this change.

If you utilize fs/t section on a daily basis you don't need evidence. Its obvious from the post and the speed at which the threads move.
The for sale/trade forums move a little different than the Love and Relationship forums where you normally post.
Come hang out and create a for sale or a wtb thread and you will get your evidence.
Thanks

I think it is all fine. If you want to sell things as well as buy things it is easy to make two threads and point one to the other in each thread. This way people know what they are looking for in each section. In this case, one section is not littered with something you are not even looking for. If I was looking to buy something, going through hordes of WTB threads to find what I was looking for because the search can not filter such things out, can be a little annoying.

Also, if you leave the forums over such a small change, then you didn't seem to care about the site as it is. I do not see the logic in wanting it merged. Very few people just browse to just browse, if they are looking for something, they want to make it as quick as possible. Skimming over WTB threads when you are not interested in them at all is pointless since you do not have the interest. Before people post something for sale, they can easily check the WTB threads to see if someone is looking for it, if not they put it up for sale and perhaps someone will have interest.

The only argument on it not being a good thing, is traffic. Quite simply, you can only guess on that since it all depends on what you want and others having it. With WTB threads being in the for sale area, they would get pushed so many pages down quickly that there is nothing to say it would be much different than having its own section. The fact is, you just can not determine figures regarding offers, since no item or no point of time is going to be the same. If I wanted DDR2 memory this week, I could get more offers now than 2 months from now, or vice versa, no way of knowing.
