Also, when does her day start, and what the heck is she doing all day that she can't be plugged in?

I still think the 3G/3GS design was the best. I didn't mind the curved back at all.
The thing I hated the second most was the feel in-hand.

The thing I hated the most about it is you can't use the thing flat on a table (eg. lunch at a restaurant). Royal PITA.

I suspect the iPhone 6 will be the best of both worlds - curved edges, flat back (camera lens notwithstanding), assuming your hands are big enough to make the larger size feel comfortable.

Not just that. Most believe a sapphire display in those sizes with current tech would be too brittle. It would take a leap in tech to make it as resilient as current Gorilla Glass designs.

The only real advantage of sapphire is hardness, which is fine for a small thing like a TouchID cover, but not for a 4.7" screen.

Yeah, I'm not counting on it, but that's what I'm hoping for, for the iPad Air 2.

if apple releases a smart watch itll prob have sapphire. sapphire is currently used in high end watched and its not so cost prohibitive at that size

Now this site is saying the iPad Air 2 will get 2 GB RAM.

But the interesting part is that it claims it's the ONLY iPad to get that.

Take that with a huge helping of NaCl, and I don't really know what that would mean for the iPhone.

Meanwhile, these guys claim the iPhone 6 will get a 128 GB model:

Yeah, it makes sense for an iWatch. Thicker and smaller, and attached to the wrist, so breakage from brittleness is less of an issue. Plus, it's always exposed and you won't put a protector on the surface.

I'm skeptical for a 4.7" or 5.5" screen though. Although possible, the case for it is much less compelling.

The iWatch is probably moot for me though. I'd be surprised if they could convince me to buy one any time soon.

I liked the curved feeling in hand as opposed to the sharp corners of the 4+ design. Don't get me wrong, because I think the 4/4S design is pretty nice. But it was a bit industrial. I like the 5C feel more than the 5/5S so I welcome the flat back and rounded edges.

But I never had a problem setting a 3G on a table. I mean it wasn't flat but it's not like it was weighted weird and always layed off to the side. I suppose if you tried to use it while it was laying on a table that it would be an issue but I still don't remember it being weird or anything.

That's what I meant. I'd be eating my lunch, holding my fork in one hand, and trying to surf on the phone while it was on the table. Really irritating, cuz as soon as you touched the screen, the phone would rock sideways.

Much easier with an iPhone 4 (or probably iPhone 6 too).

I don't disagree that that is a problem. I think I suffered from it once or twice. But honestly I find it personally difficult to eat and surf at the same time. I'm usually invested in one activity or the other at a time.

Is she using them correctly, BTW? She should be letting the phone get to around 20% on its own charge and then turning the battery pack on until or charges to about 80%. Then repeat again when it hits 20% again. Turning it on when the phone is at 100% and leaving it on all day until the battery pack dies and then using the phones internal battery is the most wasteful way of using it.

http://www.mophie.com/frequent-questions

I ask because most people I know leave them on all day. If you do it this way, you can typically get two 80% charges out of the battery pack.

Not using it correctly, I'll tell her that she's been doing it wrong lol.

Also, when does her day start, and what the heck is she doing all day that she can't be plugged in?

That's the problem - she starts at 6-8am (while plugged in) and ends at around 11pm, plugging in as often as she can throughout the day (at home, car, etc)...and her phone still dies constantly even with the Mophie. She basically works off her phone so she's always talking to someone, responding to messages, looking stuff up, etc.

I've swapped out all of our iPhone chargers with iPad chargers; hopefully they'll charge the phone faster so she'll get more out of every recharge session.

I'm off the school where more RAM isn't enough RAM. iOS does do a very good job at memory management, far better than Android does. Though 2GB will be a nice little improvement and bring it into line with the high end Android tabs. Should provide more headroom for RAM hungry apps like games and web browsing.

Am I the only person in the world that liked the fruity 5c phones? I liked the colors.

I find once a phone goes over 4.5 inches it becomes too unwieldy for me. The 3.5" 4s I have at the moment is slightly too small for me so 4 inch sounds about right.

I thought the concept was good. The color selection was awful though.

Red is my favourite colour. However, I dislike the "red" 5c. To my surprise, I actually like the yellow 5c. The blue looks more like turquoise.

However, when my wife needed a new phone last Xmas, I got her a refurbished silver 5 instead of the 5c. While I like the curve of the 5c, it still "feels" a bit cheaper, and the silver iPhone 5 looks better than all of the above 5c colours IMO. Furthermore, the refurb 5 (which looked as new) was significantly cheaper than the 5c new obviously.

BTW, I think the sweet spot for me for a phone (assuming slightly smaller bezels than the iPhone 5s that I have) would be somewhere around 4.2-4.3". Slightly larger than my iPhone 5s, but still easy to handle one-handed.

Although I suppose if I got a 4.7" iPhone 6 or 7 or whatever eventually, I might be fair to use it if I got rid of the case. Rumour has it the 4.7" iPhone 6 is 67 mm wide. With my case, my 4.0" iPhone 5s is 62 mm.

When I had my 4.7" Android phone, it was 68 mm. With the case it was well over 70 mm, and I found it very difficult to use one-handed. After using the case less than a week, I got rid of the case, and just used it bare, but even then it was somewhat too wide for my tastes. However, I have small hands.

tldr:

IMO silver iPhone 5 >> iPhone 5c (all colours), in terms of looks.

For me, width matters, for one-handed use:

59 mm: Excellent <-- iPhone 5/5c/5s
62 mm: Good <-- iPhone 5/5c/5s with case
67 mm: Probably fair <-- Probably 4.7" iPhone 6
68 mm: Fair <-- My 4.7" Android phone
70 mm: Probably poor <-- Probably 4.7" iPhone 6 with case
71 mm: Poor <-- My 4.7" Android phone with case
78 mm: Impossible <-- 5.5" iPhone 6

I'm guessing 4.2" to 4.3" is probably the sweet spot for me, caseless.
