props to both drivers, the LS1 for not making excuses and being good about it and the WRX driver for keeping it real and knowing his sh*t.

It is an auto - see her sig says A4 3.23 (automatic 4 speed, 3.23 rear end)

I'm willing to bet that she could have hit a low 13 with it. If she'd get a stall converter, race fuel, and some drag radials she'd be in the 12's easy.
 
Auto's are faster at drag racing if you have the torque to power the Torque Converter.

Yank has made many LS1 powered cars drop .5 just by dropping in a 2400 stall alone

Edit: also if the WRX is beating a 13.6 it doesn't sound stock at all, Modified vehicles are the fastest in the world. modify that LS1, toss about 6 K it's way, it'll drop 2 seconds pretty easy.

It appears to me that one's ego is directly proportional to the displacement of one's engine, while IQ is inversely proportional.

Of course, the vtec wanks have their dim bulbs...but most of them are only 15 years old so I give them the benefit of doubt 🙂

The WRX is modified by the way. He's got a bigger turbo, and aftermarket exhaust so it can breath better. He also put in an aftermarket ECU, and had it tuned.
In my WRX I couldn't touch and LS1 in dry conditions... Stock I did about 14.5 in the 1/4, and with a $30 dollar boost mod, I ran 13.9's. If it's raining or snowing or if we are racing in mud or gravel, I'll take the LS1 anyday 🙂

I dunno....I guess I give props to the woman, for owning up to whuppin, but seriously, if you're gonna go out to a track, and you don't even know what a f*cking WRX is, what hole are you living in? I have a WRX! I got a black with the manual tranny....it's FAAAAAASSSSTTTTT, I put a cheap mod on it so the turbo will engage around 2000rpm instead of around 3500. I can engage it buy pressing a light up red button I mounted underneath the dash that I labeled "Turbo Boost" (I was a big Knight Rider fan way back when 🙂 ). After I added the 17" tires, I was hitting 60mph a hair above 5.6 seconds. Never did a 1/4 mile in it, but DAMN! It's the best $25000 I ever spent!
 
Unfortuantely, the Suburu crowd is known to contract a rare mindset - The Suburu Gay Complex. In this state of mind, they do not care about anything that has meaning, they only go on about how badass their car is and how they can take anyone off the line. This only affects a portion of them, but its sad to see (I used to work with a poor individual who bought a '00 2.5RS and refused to believe that it could be beat by other small imports like Sentra SE-Rs, ect...)

So Vi_edit, we must have the same IQ since your VR6 is just about the same displacement as my Beretta 😉 😛
