They call large branches "widow-makers" for a good reason, and when you leaf your common sense behind you, you find out that a tree's bark can be worse than it's bite...and you can easily lose a limb when the tree looses a limb.

Just imagine all the things that had to happen for him to be walking under that tree as the branch broke.

Weather patterns had to be just so. Same with the walking path he took - how long it took to eat, shower, get dressed. How long the tree was there. How much stress the tree had been under through it's life to that point. A million tiny event over time added up to his death. But that it true for every day life as well
