wrecked my WRX tonight :( **UPDATED WITH PICS**

it's not too bad, but i'm still upset

i lost control around a corner (in the snow)
hopped a curb and hit a giant concret piece of sewer (construction area)

Going up the curb and bouncing off of it is what did the most damage.
But hitting the concrete thing smashed in the front bumper and crumpled the right fender.

i was going too fast for the turn apparantly
but i wasn't going WAY too fast

I made the turn, but slid around and was drifting left.
There was a trailer in the leftmost side, so i turned right and gunned it
i guess i panicked :\

at least he is better than the asshat who hit an off-road obstacle (and he wasnt intentionally going off-road) sideways and then tried to blame it on the car after changing his story a couple times.

ACtually, gunning it is the right thing to do. Accellerating in a curve creates more downforce on the rear tires where the um, traction is. Um, not sure if the wrx is rear wheel drive though. Hmm....

WRX is all wheel drive.

Not too sure how fast you were going. But unless you have good tires, AWD isn't gonna do anything for you.

Heh, nope! That's what traction control and ABS are for!
 
I admit, i got a little too cocky with the AWD...but I wasn't being extremely crazy.

I took the turn (90 degree, left) at average dry pavement speeds.

I'll get some pics up, maybe tonight after I finish my self-appraisal for work.
