ouch, don't even have the plates yet. 🙁 Excessive speed and corners don't mix even with AWD, my friend learned that the hard way like yourself in his '03 A4.

I've been driving rear wheel drive for 6 years in winter Canada, and now drive a stickshift Prelude. But I still drive like a grandma. Once I get a feel for the car and the way it responds to my input, only then will I feel more comfortable in driving the regular speed limit.

One thing about driving is you have to know your vehicle's limitation.

Pop has an AWD Safari, and admittedly I feel overconfident in acceleration, passing, and taking turns at a higher speed. I know I'm pushing the limits, but I know when the fun has to end and back off.

Technology ultimately doesn't make you a better driver.

Sorry to hear of your mishap though. Lesson learned.

What're all those remarks about SUV drivers and feeling too cocky behind the wheel ? 🙂 I think it applies here.

Sorry about your wrex though.

Yep. I took my impreza out in the snow tonight, it was a blast.

I have a 2002 WRX, been in 2 incidents - 1 rear-ended a Honda Accord(poor thing) - really hurt that car. My front end looked much like yours

Just 3 weeks ago, lost control in snow, and broke tie-rod, control arm, 2 tires and other stuff... ($1600 in damage)

I feel the pain...

Good luck!

Maybe you should have bought a Civic and took some driving lessons instead?

Sucks, but you don't lose control of an AWD vehicle in the snow unless you're driving like an asshole, so its hard for me to feel sorry for you.
