Or use specific links depending on whatever fits for you instead of actually giving a broad picture (ex. you linked to a new ixbitlabs review but then linked to one of the oldest 4870 1GB reviews and actually tried to pass that off as the correct conclusion at the present time). You linked to ixbitlabs in the 275 thread but a better review (many more games and newer nV drivers) was the xbitlabs review to which I linked. I'm sure you could have found that but I'm not surprised you didn't bother or just omitted it if you had actually found it.

BTW GTS250 is a rebadge (ie, same product new name, could be called 9850 or something I guess) while the 4890 isn't (same CHIP, different specs, name in line with current naming scheme 4830, 4850, 4870, 4890... would you consider "4870" be a rebadge?).

Someone is an nV fanboi (not against TOS)

In every ATi v. nV thread, they defend nV

Most of that forum is composed of ATi Fanbois (not against TOS, either)

They start to single in on the one person that defends nV

From then on, in any thread that person posts in defending nV, it is derailed with personal attacks, "focus group comments", etc. (against TOS)

Eventually, people come to PFI to say he deserves a ban because he doesnt "add anything"


I've made 6000+ posts in a year, and the only time ive recieved a vacation is one post defending nV.


Yes, Wreckage is about as virulent as it gets, but as I said, Derek Wilson said being a fanboi is not against TOS. You would be hard pressed to find him recommend an ATi product in any situation. But again, not against any forum rules. I could name several on the other side that are the same way, they just are a little more discreet about it.

See this is the problem, ATI/NV dont need defending and certainly not by the people buying their products.

I think the mods would like the forums to be a place where people come for advice and help in sorting out problems, not just to hear the regulars bicker.

As you said 'Wreckage is about as virulent as it gets' that is not going to make for a frendly forum that people come to for impartial advice.

I was originally leaning toward an ATi card after reading a few reviews. When I read Wreckage's post, I thought, well if it's faster I might want to reconsider my stance. I don't consider a "smidgen" faster being the end all factor when purchasing a video card.
