Yes, as a matter of fact, it would make a huge difference.  Movies(especially sci-fi movies) made in the 60's and 70's were different than movies made today.  Just watch some of the sci-fi movies from the pre-Star Wars era and you will see what I mean.  Star Wars was like nothing anyone had ever seen before.  The special effects, the story, the action and adventure, everything.  If you didn't see Star Wars when it was originally released, you have no idea how revolutionary it really was.  At the time it was released, it was by far, the greatest adventure film ever made.  I remember going to try to get tickets and the line wrapped completely around the entire 4-screen theater building.  Lines were like this for weeks after opening day.  I was 7 years old when it was released and I saw the movie at least 5 times in theaters.
